  Hmm... while I don't particularly care, it is a bit upsetting that someone I haven't heard of rising to admin status. Although, I'm doubting Ashi will mess anything major up, given that there is already a large amount of distrust, pressuring her not to mess up. Time will tell, however.

  You have to understang that a user comes from out of nowhere, gets promoted in less than a month, and the majority of the members (or at least the ones that posted in this thread) have no idea who big boss es.

  I've taken a stance of passiveness. My role is to design a system that improves the efficiency and uniformity of the other staff. Not much more. I don't really plan on taking any administrative actions at all. Though I will be mediating between members as much as possible, none of it should actually lead to having an impact on staff decision making.
  
  This system will also allow moderators to challenge all decisions. My authority will not override any single moderator. If they are ambitious enough, they'll be able to take my seat and I'll retire. But last week when Osayidan fished for thoughts on his selection of the new admin, I was met with unanimous agreement save for the worry that there might be people who would be dissatisfied with an enigmatic member becoming the new admin. We've thought all of it through. One of my jobs is to improve the relationship between the staff and the community, but the biggest obstacle in that endeavor turned out to be myself.
  
  Such worries are trivial. If I do a bad job, I'll be canned soon enough. Alternatively, I might become everyone's favorite. I've said what I can, and if that doesn't ease your mind, it'll just have to be through my actions in the future.

  I'd get it for you, but the dungeons were created to negate the interdimensionary warp prisms that those confined inside would use to escape... and the null zone disables our ban hammers as well.   Freedom of speech is a nice ideal, but in a forum setting (especially this one) certain words will not garner any positive reaction. As in, you can't honestly expect to phrase that word in a manner that won't be classified as harassment.

  Slow-down mode is prohibited. Bombs are stocked and not based on power. Your rep power will determine item collection value. Auto collection above the line will occur regardless of current power.

  Correct. It'll go against what I said earlier about how I would avoid tampering with the current rules. As for the justification of its current placement in the rules, we'll cross that debate when we actually address it.
  
  I've been blabbering on about how I want to institute a new staff system, but I haven't actually gotten to it yet. Things will make a little more sense when I finish it up, and I'll make a public announcement about how it works too.

  While it's okay for a regular member to get a "fresh start", so to speak, by making a new account to seek anonymity, the circumstances change when that person is in what is perceived as a position of power.
  
  Not that it matters, honestly, but I don't agree with the attitude the staff is approaching this with.

  I agree if you are going to obtain a position of power you need to own up to your mistakes if you have any or at least not hide your identity because it will create a distrust among the community towards you.

  This is exactly why they made him/her administrator, so the current staff doesn't have to deal with their mistakes while she/he can ignore her past ones.
