Gaming laptops are expensive.
For gaming just get desktops, and use your laptop for work/internet.

I mean I would invest in a gaming desktop its just that this is for college so gaming is on the side lol.
But I guess the real question is why is that laptop have way better preformance than the others but way less cheaper than gaming laptops?

It's all marketing, sales and all that. To the manufacturers, the actual costs are comparable.
Lenovo is one of the better brands for consumer laptop stuff thanks to their ThinkPad acquisition, although I'd say consumer/gamer grade laptops are crap in general.

Some brands have solid reputation and can get away with charging more. Others just hype the crap out of their products like alienware.

You can look at this:
http://www.xoticpc.com/
to get a general idea of what laptop you want, they have a lot of good brands. You don't have to buy from there but you can find a model that you like and then see if there is another place you want to buy it.
