So yesterday we had a thread in Bean Rua about that subject where one user asked for a bot and it raised quite a "storm"
Ashikoki had a great post about a possible change on the rules we could have to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Here is Ashikoki's quote from the closed thread.
Modding and macros have always been a really difficult problem for everyone. As Juju mentioned, even gaming keyboards and mice can be considered as such. They were banning special mouse assignments at Starcraft tournaments if I recall.
Talking about mods/macros: Okay
Linking to or teaching to use mods/macros: Not Okay
Linking to or teaching to use mods/macros that have the official OK from the content owners (such as Source engine mods): Okay
Does this sound acceptable? To filter out that gray area of debating whether its acceptable or not, we just see if they've given consent. Many players believe modding or using macros is acceptable because "no one has been banned", but since it has never received proper confirmation, its a risk we won't be dealing with.
Since this thread is now closed and many people don't frequent Bean Rua I thought we should have a discussion on how the rules about that issues should be revised (if needed) so that threads like the one we have yesterday don't repeat themselves.
TL;DR: I feel like we should have a serious discussion on this subject without the bean rua randomness or name calling where people who don't visit Bean Rua have a chance to give their opinion on the subject too!

I think Ashi's quote is a perfect way to do it, especially with the last one. It's simple and encompasses everything important.

Yea the quote seems fine enough, idk what has to be discussed about it.

I do agree that the quote is fine enough. I'm saying we should discuss the current rule because every time a post about it get made in the mabinogi section, there's always some argument for or against said rule and such. So it'd be best if we gather the opinion of a good number of people on how the rule should be rewritten so we don't have so many ambiguity in the future I guess.

Sounds good to me.

Depending on the type of modular software, would it be alright to separate it into two groups?
- Creative mods, or additions to other games such as Minecraft and Terraria
- And client editing mods/software such as macros and the like.
For sandbox and creative purposes, I think it'd be best to be able to distinguish them in different ways.

The current rules only prevent people from posting and linking mods that effected nexon games, this change will help cover other games as well.
For minecraft the owner gives people permission to mod his game so things like that should be fine.

Long ago I proposed a clarification and change to the discussing mods rule but was shot down by most of the mods. I'm hoping with Ashiki at the wheel as the administrator some positive change might come to light about this and eliminating the gray areas.

We've already discussed this quite a bit in the other thread, and there doesn't seem to be any opposition in this thread, so we'll be going with this change.

I object to this change
