I personally love the Bible's definition for love:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
But I'm not gonna lie, loving someone is retarded. Retarded good, retarded bad. I shouldn't even be using the word 'retarded,' since it's so mean towards people who do indeed have mental or physical defects, so forgive me; I'm trying to make a point.
Love itself, I believe, is perfect. Relationships are flawed. Humans are flawed. Our interpretation of things can never be perfect. Our decisions can never be perfect, not even our feelings. But love? Love is perfect.
I get mad at my boyfriend sometimes when there's no reason to get mad for. It's me. I'm impatient, lazy, angry at my worst. Being with someone really brings all your traits out to the table: both good and bad, haha. And then there will be the times where I'll do something that will irritate him so much. That's him. He's strict, sometimes leaves no room for options, reads into things a lot. He's wonderful.
We come together knowing these differences and so we try to work them out. That's what love is, giving. Love is all about giving. Relationships are about give and take. The latter takes work and practice. Loving someone is work. But it's really amazing. The bad days are bad. But those days where you can just go a whole day holding their hand. Oh man, that's special.
If there's anything I wish ANYBODY could experience throughout their lifetime, it's
real,
mutual love. When people complain about it being overrated or cringe at the sight of two people making out in public, I always laugh. Deep down, I think it's what most people want; the companionship, the physical and emotional intimacy, the trust. Love is really the reason why most of us are here today anyway, and the theme behind so many songs in the music industry as well.
Without a doubt, love blows oceans away.
