UPDATE: It actually works now. My dad was messing around with it and it started working again. He thinks it wasn't fully charge and that there may be a problem with the device all of the wires were hooked to in the basement, or so he said. I'm not sure what's going on, but at least it's working now.

You should probably back up all the contents of your hard drive in case the solution turns out temporary.

Yeah, I'm going to do that, especially with my .sai files so I don't end up having to start from scratch on anything.
