Chrono Trigger was an RPG that set it apart from others from the start - it introduced time travel and brought a diverse cast together instead of having a generic spiky haired hero and his lackeys found in other RPGs at the time. Now, time travel might be common now, but back then? It was a completely new concept to RPGs, and the masterminds of both Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy worked on it. Combining awesome with more awesome just makes a crapton of awesome.

Good for you bro, you think everything is shit
I think both these games are fabulous and you telling us they suck twice is just obnoxious and unnecessary

Thank you.
But everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I've never played Earthbound before, so I can't say anything.

Earthbound was... pretty average imo.
Very much enjoyed Chrono Trigger. Also, didn't it have 16 endings?

Earthbound is popular because it has been screwed over many many times.

Nay, 12 endings + 'bad' ending + new DS ending makes 14.
There are a couple of slight variations on some of the endings depending on if you took the Epoch or not.

I guess it didn't take much money investment to turn these games into consoles? These games are pretty outdated...

I really can't help but wonder. Most people speculated that we would never get EarthBound again because the soundtrack clearly samples from classic songs without getting permission. Too much of a copyright risk for Nintendo to re-release it...but apparently not.
