I'd like to point out to everyone who is already fantasizing about how they will use singing...
[6:17:03 PM] Alexalexalexalex: People are already assuming
[6:17:07 PM] Alexalexalexalex: it uses the normal bard skills
[6:17:08 PM] Alexalexalexalex: to sing
[6:17:17 PM] Alexalexalexalex: Like, it could be totally freaking different
[6:17:29 PM] Alexalexalexalex: I could see it being like
[6:17:41 PM] Alexalexalexalex: While instrument buffs dont have to be continuously played
[6:17:47 PM] Alexalexalexalex: Singing has to be done continuously
[6:17:51 PM] Alexalexalexalex: After no longer needing a mic
[6:17:55 PM] Alexalexalexalex: you can sing and play at the same time
[6:18:11 PM] Alexalexalexalex: Singing, instead of using a skill directly
[6:18:20 PM] Alexalexalexalex: adds to the currently active bard effect
[6:18:25 PM] Alexalexalexalex: based on the singer's rank of that song
[6:18:32 PM] Alexalexalexalex: I could see it working like that.
Also, I wouldn't even get my hopes up for being able to specify the syllables. Chances are it will be implemented as a "special" instrument that still uses MML, but instead of a generic note sound, picks the syllable based on the note.
Quote from Anwell;1075771:
I wish they allowed bards to stack magic music scrolls with buff skills at the very least... Seems like they are ignoring old mechanics and simply adding new things, like singing and savage magic weapons.
Magic music scrolls and bard buffs have
always stacked. They just can't be 'played' at the same time.
1. Activate the bard buff
2. Cancel bard skill
3. Start the score with normal Playing Instrument
4. ???
5. Profit.
