You don't need to be immortal for that, just saying.
You're more likely to do it if you were immortal because then you would realize any contact with anything won't end well in the long run as they cease to exist while you still do.
You don't need to be immortal for that, just saying.
My personal theory on this is that if there was, it wouldn't have anything to do with the life you have now.
Your entire memory, personality, etc are all stored in brain cells, like a computer stores its information in its hard drive. If your brain cells go, so does your mind.
So if you die and an "afterlife" begins, your brain isn't exactly there for it.
What part of you would continue "living" in this theory? Can something lacking your knowledge, memory, and personality properly be called "you" at all?
To be completely honest, I fear eternity more than I fear death. The idea of outliving the people I love is ridiculously terrifying.
I think death is one of the few things in this world that actually scares me.
Sometimes I wish I was religious so I could believe in a heaven or whatever, but I'm not so I don't.
When I die I will close my eyes and then never open them again, ceasing to exist and my corpse will be dropped in a hole to rot and that is terrifying.
I would trade anything in this world to live forever. The fact that it could happen any day doesn't help matters any, I could die tomorrow. Or in 5 minutes. Or in 50 years.
I think that, when faced with death even non-religious people will pray, you know, just in case.
What are your thoughts on death?
lotsa text
You technically don't experience death, just the moment prior (unless younot get the rare near death stuff) so itonly temporary and nothib to worry about.
