Hello there, ladies and gents, I thought I'd leave a bit of information about myself over here since I visit so much but only post when I have something to say or an event to post up for my server.
I've been playing since the first day of Open Beta and was recruited to make the Rayout Guildstone a day later. Unlike most players, I largely have ignored the game's story, as I am more fascinated by the game's engine and all the different ways I can gain experience and variety of Party games and events.
When the original Rayout members started to lose interest, I ended up getting control of the clan with my in game wide Bellynn, and we turned the group into a Newbie Friendly Mentoring guild. Since the original founders had come over from the KR servers to teach us basic combat tips and tricks, we carried forward everything we had learned and created our own little tight knit Family atmosphere. People came and went, Myself and Bellynn becoming the Grandpa and Grandma watching fledglings grow and leave the nest until it was also time for Bellynn to depart from this world and return to her family IRL, leaving the Crown on my head with an oath to never let the clan die as long as there were children who needed help.
In time, Kartia became my Right Hand Woman and a new Council of players filled out the guild for a while to keep me company and dedicated themselves to helping others. We became the family of the Pheonix, a representation of how our guild sleeps and thrives over the years as it is needed.
While managing the guild in 2009 as an Officer, there was a particular event occurring that was infuriating everyone by giving prizes that could not be used or traded whatsoever to players after having to stay online without changing channels or losing connection for four hours solid. After a slew of similar events that year, I got tired of all the complaining on the forums and "Bored" people sitting around Dunbarton and started pitching the idea of a Server Party.
Initial responses were actually incredibly hostile. I spent about a week on the forums and grinding in game before anyone took me really seriously, posting my results of things I had gathered and gold I was willing to give away if people just showed up to participate in the games I'd come up with. Back then, it was all completely experimental, not the more 'polished' player event that people run today based off my experience and findings. In total there was 3 weeks of preparation before the first Tarlach Fair on Dec 16th, and the positive response was so overwhelming that I ended up agreeing to do more of them.
From 2009 to 2011, I couldnt go anywhere without being recognized, I even visited other servers when they expressed interest in hosting a Fair after seeing screenshots of over 150 Tarlachians attending an event together and having a good time. Unfortunately, all my time and energy goes into Tarlach and I just could not keep the presence needed to maintain Fairs on other servers. Mari managed to pull one together but the results were mixed. Alexina had the Heart and Soul for it, but not the Hours, and Ruirai.... Well... They have their own sense of "charm", lets say.
I do however, get into a lot of Closed betas or paid to play other games for reviewing, so about 2 years ago I was offered an interesting deal to do a weekly blog for another game. I tried doing both games for a while but the work on both was just too much so I passed the Crown to then-trusted individuals and took a leave of absence for a time, visiting briefly for the 6th Tarlach Fair and to witness the horrors of the Blackrobe issues.
I came back to Mabi about 4 months ago and have been laying low, trying to get my guild back together after some confusing complications that happened when I was away and supporting the people trying to run the 7th Tarlach Fair. I read updates on Mabination pretty frequently, but I'm usually too busy in the game to holdup any decent conversations.
My current projects involve Commerce Teams focused on party combat and intentional Bandit Aggro on Wednesday on Ch3 and looking into doing Forest Purification once a month with random players just for fun.
Sig Clarification; I used to Roleplay a lot when I started and Spook is a 7 foot tall, obsidian skinned "Shadow Troll". I was fleeing World of Warcraft after years of Raids and adults that made Mabi's players look like Heavyweight Boxing Champions, and the Horde's Troll accent stuck with me. Spook has been a Troll ever since.
