I have a couple of questions for those who have started ranking Carpentry:
How tedious is it to train this skill?
How many hours, or how much gold, have you invested in getting to your current rank?
If you have any comments, feel free to post. I want to use my saved AP on this skill because getting AR pages is a pain! Why does no one sell AR4?! :fail:

I am pretty sure you don't spend much gold on carpentry. mostly grind and managing inventory space.
maybe for higher ranks.

You just spend money on Axe repairs basically.

The above are lies, when you have to make bows at higher ranks you need tough threads, being either expensive, rare, and non-raftable, making it evil. D:
But thats like R7 or something, which doesn't matter if you aren't going to try to go far with it.

Don't have to spend money though. Most people who are actually doing carpentry are far into the game, probably having many lifeskills maxed already, making other materials easy to get and basically free.

I am working on Carpentry and it's not that hard at all. The worst thing is...
You have to buy the 4k+ lumber axe and you can only repair them at General Shops, don't ask why. The nearest one is in Tir Chonaill, so basically you're running back and forth between areas to repair an axe unless you're rich and just end up buying brand new axes. You can also leave an alt character at a General Shop and log on/off to repair so that might be quicker. The other stuff, such as Tough Threads and anything else needing to be weaved, I can do myself since I already have Weaving maxed out. I'm not sure about the success rate percentage for now. I tried Carpentry during the rain, but I don't think rain affects it at all.
