Upon slaying the mighty, yet also quite knavish (I dare say) Uroboros, I was in quite the state of excitement to behold with my eyes the appearance of the legendary "Sword" of the gods. Little did I know that I was on the path leading to much disappointment!
A bit of time (a couple of minutes as marked by the convenient chronometer on my screen) after witnessing the dramatic and dazzling defeat of the dastardly python knight (who I dare say looks to be more of a skeleton rather than a python), I purposed to take a look at the "sword". With great dismay, I discovered that this weapon looked to be more of a pike or a spear than a sword!
What was this so-called "DevCat" thinking when they designed this item? Were they not sufficiently knowledgeable enough in the field of combat armaments to even differentiate the distinctive features of a sword and a spear? War swords, battle swords, broad swords, short swords, even ghost swords all at the least resemble a sword, yet when it comes to the "sword" of the gods, they make it look like a spear!
I shall conclude my treatise with one final point. I have hypothesized that turtles are reptiles.

Totally agree.
DevCat needs to make spears sometime.

No, the Brioniac is a Sword. You just need to think more creativly and logically. It has a long blade like a sword, but its on a stick. Its a sword on a stick. If you watched Shaman King, Len Tao had a similiar weapon. Spears are swords, theyre just made for extention purposes so you dont get hit. Just Mabi doesnt include the whole you dont get hit part (Like adding range to it)

The mighty toothpick of the gods! I guess the so-called gods ran out of budget and couldn't make a real sword. Though I bet it was Cichol's idea to call it a sword anyways, so as to deceive the hapless milletians.

The Gods are so awesome they can disguise their sword as a spear.
The real sword is so epic. It has a long metal blade, skulls, skulls on the skulls, spikes on the skulls, and it's on fire.

I find spears to be elegant so I'm delighted to finally get one to use in the future. :>

Urgh, not even going to touch the weapon of the gods. 14000/14000 durability looks too awesome to ruin.

Some of the npcs call it a spear, some a sword o3o So it's not like they didn't know the difference <_<

With that "sword" you can use a skills called Spear of God.

0.25 durability each spear is a lot, though. :x
But it goes through PD which is nice.
I still prefer Rage of Wings anyway since it can go through PD naturally.

They were just to lazy to add any kind of Spear weapons. In Celtic Mythology, Brionac is really a spear. They probably just remolded it the same way and then thought:
"Hmmmm, do you guys think we should make this into a Spear?"
"No way! Spears are to epic for them. When you counter with a spear, you jump up in the air and smash your foes head in! They can't handle that!"
"Hehe....I guess your right. Sword it shall be then!"
"But don't we have to make it look more like a sword?"
"Hey, that's too much work. We gave them the Griffin already, what more can they want out of us? Let's use the money from the Griffins and go to the club!"

But then again, when does mabinogi ever accurately follow Celtic Mythology?
