  I think there's at least a small outage / delay every day or two in my experience (be it STM's fault such as hardware/equipment/software or passengers fault) causing at least 5 - 10 minutes delay. Then maybe 3 or 4 times a month there's something more serous.
  
  I signed up to get emails whenever there's an outage, so I should dig those up to get historical data of how bad it is (and even then it only shows the big ones that last over 20 - 30 minutes).

  I assume you normally use it on weekends then? Weekend issues are very rare.
  They seem to plan to have problems specifically in morning or evening rush hour... every other moment of the day or weekends is great.

  Here in Toronto we have subway service suspensions when people pull the passenger assistance alarms. It tends to happen almost every morning during rush hour... not much can be done about it. Thankfully the outages usually don't last for more than 3 mins or so. Just gotta plan some extra time when you go to work/school.

  Those do happen but like you said it's under 5 minutes. Not going to blame some old man having a heart attack on the transport company.
  I'm talking 10 - 30 minute outages multiple times per week (sometimes multiple times per day on rare occasions) during either morning or evening rush hour periods.
  Sometimes it's even longer than that.
  
  Here's a screenshot of the emails I got for outages, keep in mind it appears they only send an email after at least one metro line has been down about 25 to 30 minutes. So each email conversation should have a (2), one for theo utage and one for service being returned. The ones with more than 2 means multiple lines were affected. That big one with 6 and the other with 12 is when the whole system was fucked.

  Our metro system is prehistoric... it dates back to the late 60's. The metro cars I ride in now (green line) are the same ones my parents used when they were kids.

  I work in montreal through.
  5 days a week I must leave my house 1 hour and 15 minutes just to arrive at my job in montreal in time. Then when the work shift is over, gotta go back to home on a one hour long trip.

  What route do you use then? I'd say 90% of the problems are on the green line (oldest and falling apart, but also the most used...)

  I remember once, when leaving school, I entered Berri-UQAM and I saw my friend walking in the opposite direction. We say hi, and he's like "the Metro's closed, can't take it". I ask for details but he didn't know. "I'll walk to Bonaventure". Instead, I tell him we'll go on the green line and then walk a little less. When we arrived at Bonaventure, they were still shutdown. Stayed like that for a good 1+ hour. At least 20-30 stations were shutdowned.
