Need help with drawing speed.

I'll be frank with everyone; I've been stuck on one piece for the past 7 months and I can say I'm only 65% complete. It's pixelart but anyone who has experience with art, I would still really appreciate the help.

I'm rather annoyed with myself, my incompetence at it's completion and I'm frustrated at how long I've been stuck staring at it.

Is there anything I can do to help myself? What have you done to improve your own speed?

I was really planning to show everyone once it's complete but this is driving me crazy. I just can't stand it anymore.

honestly for me, I only work fast when I feel motivated or when I feel like I'm having fun doing the piece.
whenever, I tend to take more breaks in between things I realize that I lose the want to finish it and end up pushing it off for months on end.

my friend on the other hand, can whip out clean sketches in less than 5 mins because he's practiced so much. it's insane. * A *

Sometimes when you get stuck on a piece you need to just go do something else for a little while then come back to it, if you still can't find yourself finishing it after that maybe you can try to change it up a bit? Do some experimenting, y'know?

As for drawing speed, the only thing I know that increases your speed in drawing is to practice more.
