What they don't know is, he is also a Sayian, Ninja, and member of the super sentai.
And a pirate, don't forget that.

He turned into a fucking Quincy?

I think he turned into Jesus, that's the only way or explain all his powers... Jesus or Superman.

Oh great, on top of his being quincy/shinigami/hollow/jesus/saiyan/superman/ninja/pirate/vizard/fullbringer, he also just dropped into the pit of cliche.
Now he's got two swords, the king of cliche weapons. Well at least they aren't the same size, making it a little more believable, but now he has to train with two swords...or does he just automatically know how to use his new swords.
Actually, I've been reading on it, and there are so many messages and clues all over the series hinting at his quincy lineage, especially his "final getsuga tenshou", which had the chains wrapped around his arm like Ishida's quincy power when ichida lost his powers. That one blew my mind when I read it. xD

i had already figured Ichigo's mom was a quincy all the way back in the vizard arc. figured if they were exploring the hollow side the only part open left was quincys later on.
also, since when is such a weapon cliche for a main character?

He won't need to do any training for balance (at least I don't think he would), in the Soul Society arc and the data books they explained a Zanpakuto is weightless to it's owner.
I like this one theory some guy has, that the hilt of the larger Zangetsu folds into the center of the sword and the two blades come together to make some disgusting double sword bow thing. Would be pretty funny to see, but I don't think that would happen. But then again I didn't think Kubo would do two swords for Ichigo let along one being so damn small and seemingly useless. I'm not quite a fan of the new design. I liked the one he got after getting his powers back.

I guess since Sword Art got popular, that's the new cliche or something. You're right though, I can't think of many characters who dual wield.

Dual Wielding isn't really cliche, hell Ichigo having one big slab of metal on a stick was more of a cliche protagonist weapon.
As for all the current event in bleach, I like that we finally get to know about Ichigos mother, but as someone else said, it's kinda ridiculous that Ichigo has been pretty much everything in the series at this point lol.

You know, if there wasn't all this buildup and mystery behind his origins, as well as the fact that he has the worst amount of control over his powers in the entire series next to Kenpachi, I'd agree about Ichigo being half-everything. That sounds incredibly boring and out of bad fan-fiction. It could have been handled badly and he could have been a god-mode sue, but if you really think about it Ichigo has lost about half his battles when it's just him fighting. He's always been carried by Zangetsu and Bachgetsu, and he's only ever killed one major character (Ginjou).
That bullshit has spawned numerous plot points and mysteries by itself.

Yeah, how he gets his powers is handled well imo. Just feels like you said, bad fanfictiony.
When you really think about it, without Bach and Zangestsu saving him, Ichigo wouldn't win anything lol. He only really overwhelmed Ginjou, but that didn't really seem like he was even really trying against him. Everyone else he's fought just stomped him until his Hollow intervened or something.
