Discussion with some math on the Nexon forums
http://vindictus.nexon.net/Community/#%2Fshowthread.php%3F889553-DevNote-Damage-Equation-update%26nxid%3D15
I'll give a quick run down of the important part.
1. The damage chart is most likely based off of 70-80 Havan, who has 11k Def. The 8k and 10k Att values don't add up and most people are discarding them in analysis.
2. Most of the damage boost occurs in the "sweet spot" of around 1k-3k above boss' Def, and it's virtually is nonexistent above 5k over boss Def.
3. There's an early estimate on the Nexon forum topic of the new formula, read up over there if you want.
4. Main implication is that unless you can get to the threshold where these changes aren't in effect, Att is worth far less. There's even some math that shows there's the potential for a +15 Lv. 8 weapon to outdamage a +10 Lv. 70 weapon provided you scroll it heavily for supporting stats like Bal/Speed/Crit.
5. However once you get past that ~5k over boss Def threshold, Att becomes the dominant stat again for boosting DPS.
6. Between this and the easier to obtain Lv. 70s, this should be relatively good news for most mid range players.
7. Gap between normal players and the extremely stacked players still exist, the gap just went from like triple damage to double damage.
Right as I got to 19k too, I was looking forwards to faceroll top DPS.
