I've posted this a little while ago, and just wanted to say that I still think that Shamala is an incarnation of Neamhain.

Neamhain, who mysteriously disappeared after g12 shares a few distinct features with Shamala

The yellow eyes
Obvious skin tan
Similar clothing despite ethnic differences.
And the ability to transform

Shamala may have been normal at first, but until she stumbled upon the lost sacred art of transformation has undergone the task of purifying Iria from the corrupted souls. To purify corruption, or darkened souls as what she has been doing, she needs to be aligned with powers of light to combat the darkness.

Neamhain is the goddess of Light, and the goddess of Iria, as such she is the overseer of the continent and is it's soul guardian, a task shamala has been appointed to maintain in recent chapters.

I think she may awaken as Neamhain in later generations [/SPOILER]

He almost killed her. At the end of g12, the Milletian was sent by Morrighan to use their powers to help save her. It wasn't specified exactly what happened after that, but she's probably still alive, and even if she died, she could proably be reborn, like how Macha and Cichol can't seem to stay dead.
