Type: TV
Episodes: n/a
Producers: Studio Deen, TBS
Genres: Action, Comedy, Drama, Magic
Jun Sakurada, a middle school shut-in refuses to go to school after being traumatized by an embarrassing incident at school. One day, he receives a letter asking “yes or noâ€, and chose “yesâ€, meeting the living doll Shinku and the events of the original Rozen Maiden series unfolding. However, what would have happened if he had chosen “noâ€? Although he overcame his shut-in nature, this Jun can’t find a place where he belongs. Then, Shinku suddenly appears in this world where “Rozen Maidens†aren’t supposed to exist; what will their new encounter bring?!
Haven't actually watched it, actually watching it right now, but basically episode appears 1 to be a recap of S1 and 2 or something, for the new viewers, so it seems this is S3...? Might be wrong.

Well, from what I read in comments on another site, the original two seasons diverged from the manga somewhat early. Other things I saw there was that this is from Rozen Maiden II, in an alternate universe situation in which Jun doesn't wind the doll, called the 'unwound universe'.
Something else I should mention is that, despite the description being like that, the 'adaptation' link leads to Rozen Maiden II.
Anyways, I'll be watching this, and look forward to seeing this confusion straighten out.

Ah, now that I watched it, I understand a bit better.
I'm guessing this first episode was somewhat covering what happened in the Rosen Maiden manga, as the first two seasons were very different from everything shown in this episode. Then, this next episode, we'll have stuff from Rosen Maiden II. Just my guessing though.

Looks like it's drawn in a style closer to the manga.
I guess this was a manga re-cap for those who already know the story and want to get to this new one, but for newcomes, it must seem pretty fast.

Even though it was a recap, it was rather fluid in terms of progression.

Yeah.
It would be kind of nice to get an anime that follows the manga, but I guess an episode is what we'll get. It'll be interesting to see how this is different from the first.

Why isn't there a Kiniro Mosaic thread? Along with Love Lab, I think those two were my favorite first episodes..
Well, from what I can tell, young Jun is in trouble, and needs old Jun to help. Old Jun just touched upon the fate he was supposed to have, and so he's now being sent Shinku's parts to remake Shinku, for some reason or another. Old Jun starts devoting all his spare time to remake Shinku, due to his dissatisfaction with his current life, as he thinks this will change something somehow. However, Doll #7 has now detected and stopped the messaging between young and old Jun, as well as stopping the force behind sending old Jun the parts of Shinku.
Now, old Jun is going to be determined and continue making Shinku. Either he's going to be making all the clothes, and somehow receiving her head, or he's just going to go full out dollmaker and make all the missing parts. Either way, he'll probably earn some admiration somewhere.
Also, for those who didn't notice, I believe the part time girl at old Jun's work was also a partner to a doll in the wound universe, and I think that key is to that mirror cabinet thing.
