Just a suggestion, I am also curious as to what other's people's think about it.
After lurking around Nation for the past few days looking up dragon recipes :ghost: noticed that some members have a pet peeve for the high frequency of 1 liner/closed questions that should obviously be put into the small questions thread. So much that someone decided to make a guide on how to ask questions or answer them yourself (I think the guide is actually quite informative).
I was thinking, why not put a gold fee or restriction for making a new threads in the Help/Question section? It may deter or prevent the frequency of those lazy 1 liners that can be easily answered by just looking up the wiki or looking at old posts on Nation.
Essentially using your resources available wisely.
Of course posting/editing a pre-existing thread/post won't cause gold deduction (who wants to get penalties for being helpful? or being polite enough not to spam the boards with multiple threads).
Your thoughts <:U?

The questions and help forum is ultimately for all of those kinds of people who don't know how to answer their own questions.
I think it'd be for the worst. Mabination doesn't seem like the type of place for just theory crafters.
Ultimately it's best to deal with the problematic users on their own. There's not that many of them.

I really think people are making a bigger deal out of this than it is.

Unfortunately there is currently no real rule against this, even though people are not allowed to post more than a certain amount of threads a day.
Not all one-line questions have a simple answers to them though, and might even bring forth a worthy discussion about the topic.
Although when the question is solved with a simple answer, the thread will usually get merged with the Small Questions Thread, to keep it somewhat clean.
If you think a question is too simple to have its own thread, and is still posted as one, you can report it and we'll move it if necessary.

Yep...I've seen two users who've been problematic. That's it.
And sometimes it's nice to be able to make a thread, even with one question - because they're often overlooked or ignored in the smalls question thread.
Sometimes one question also expands into a discussion - because the person who posted it has follow up questions. In cases like these threads are better and more informative, and serve the users better than the small questions thread.

That wouldn't work well and would send newcomers away.

Why would people making threads that is relevant to section be a bad thing? People reply to it, and most threads do grow.

If you actually do think that, then fine. Go to the question and help section, and tell me how confident are you that all threads made from yesterday has an actually chance to be elaborated on, or grow, as you said.
My thread was there to save time, the person who asked the question, the person who answers the question, and also moderating time. And to keep the section look cleaner. I mean if you want thousands of small questions to have their own threads and have only a few replies to it, then go ahead and delete the Small Question Thread because it then becomes irrelevant and looses its purpose of 'Small question' thread.

Some of them do grow more than 1-2 replies. Also, if you are just doing a search, it is easier to search for threads than posts in one super thread. At least, when I search for something, it is. Why can't we have both? Some people like to use that super thread, and some people like to make individual ones.
I don't even use that small questions thread because it is just too huge.

I'm fairly sure when you search something - and click the thread, the thread starts at page 1.
Means that the small question thread is absolutely useless for future use - its best use is when you need a question answered and it's unlikely to spark any sort of discussion at all.

Hence why i said
The Mabination Search tool is very helpful especially for open questions.
If small questions, you'll have to resort to Google. But then again, because we can delete posts, it will again defect its purpose because the post isn't permanently removed.

I'm against this idea. Why restrict the free spirit of asking? I know the search button is helpful but sometimes, some stuff in the game changes and people like me need to ask. I don't even bother with small questions and answers because there's too much to read. I sometimes just scan through the threads to see what interests me.
Yes, the real big problem of big threads is the risk of being overlooked or just ignored just because there's too much to go through. It's a terrible feeling and it happens anywhere. The same can happen for topics too but is usually offset by how personalised it is for a person who's asking the question.
To me, if you are annoyed with repeated questions from a specific few users, your best answer is just to ignore and not answer at all. It's that simple.

But new members don't even have gold, so then people who make new accounts to ask questions won't even be able to do that. Most of the time, they don't even stick around long enough to start gathering gold in the first place.

This sounds like a horrible idea.
