New computer being slow?(Internet/ect)

Well, finally got my custom-built computer up and running today, and I've noticed that it's been being slow in terms of loading webpages and downloading things, maybe this is a common things for new computers? My computer also has a wired connection to a modem, not wireless.

Any ideas? thanks in advance!

It might be downloading updates in the background, since you just got it and there's usually a ton of updates you gotta do.

Probably, The slowness stopped, but it still keeps disconnecting.
