I know it's satire, but I actually think he's got a bit of a point. I hate gamer bros. With a passion.
And the introduction of esports has made things worse. I don't do sports, I don't want my favorite games being ruined by having to discuss the popular championship players or what kind of retarded things they do. (happens with LoL way too fucking much.)

Posted this in Bean Rua because I'm dumb and didn't see this, but Valkyrio linked me so I guess it would be good to say my piece and hopefully get this thread a bit more attention.
First off, the fact that the term "girl gamer" exists is already kind of an indicator that there's a problem. It's almost like games can't appeal to both sexes for whatever reason. The industry already kind of alienates women by objectifying them. Gamers are just adding to this by alienating them even more. It's like by virtue of being a woman, one suddenly has to prove themselves as a gamer. I've been fortunate enough to not encounter those kinds of people, but I have seen the different treatment girls get by virtue of being, well...girls. It's ridiculous. It's not like a guy suddenly has to prove he's a "real gamer" if someone suddenly finds out he's a guy and not a girl.
It shouldn't bother people if a female gamer looks good. What, just because she's good-looking that means she's mentally incapable of doing something besides looking good?
It's just one of those things that adds to the whole "this industry (and others) are kind of sexist)" thing.
For the record: It's not sexy women I find alienating. Sexy women are fantastic. It's women who clearly exist to be nothing but a sex object that bother me (and many others). Like...
Ever look at a game and get the impression that the developers are trying wayyyy too hard to make a girl "sexy" to appeal to a specific group of players? yeahh...
