In Kyoto, there are three kinds of residents: humans, tanuki, and tengu. Shimogamo Yasaburou is the third son of the Shimogamo tanuki family. His father, Souichirou, had been the head of Kyoto tanuki community until he was eaten by the human members of "Friday Club". While taking care of an old tengu, fighting with other tanuki, and playing with a psychic human girl, Yasaburou approaches the truth of his father's death.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this anime so far, and it's only the first episode. It's one of those lesser popular/known ones at the moment though. I'd really love to spread it to more people because it's has quirky, eccentric characters with some good supporting back stories. And the ending song just swept me away. * u *

what are your thoughts so far guys?

Saw it on Crunchyroll on the day it was out. I was pretty lost through the entire show.

I had high expectations for the show, but I'm not sure if it's met them so far. I'm anticipating a focus on societal issues - tension between the three races and whatnot.

it wasn't as bad as how I felt when watching Bakemonogatari though. :llama_makeface:
