But I don't think Garchomp counts, since it evolves to it's final form at 48, compared to it's predecessors' 55.
For me, Tyranitar all the way. Dragonite is a little too cutesy for my taste, and Salamence is way to tiny to be intimidating (it's not even 5' tall. D:) Plus Tyranitar can just use a rock type for it's STAB attack, and take out both Dragonite and Salamence easily, same if you taught it a Dragon type attack, except that Rock attacks are more useful to me, since there are more Pokemon that are weak to Rock compared to those weak to Dragon (which are only Dragon-types).
Actualllllly. Tyranitar is the odd man out since it evolves at a level higher than 50 while the rest of the psuedo's evolve at or just before 50. So technically, in Battle Tower battles, Tyranitar wouldn't have existed. Also Garchomp has been moved to Uber-Tier with the addition of the Frontier Move Tutor where his already aggressive move pool as been buffed more. This replaces his special attack Flamethrower to a physical attack Fire Punch as Garchomp's anti-ice attack.

I'm fairly sure that Dragonite and Salamence are level 55s as well. That's what Dr. Swordopolis (Pokedex at Marriland and past experience) is telling me. Sure, I'm not arguing that Garchomp is a bad Pokemon, I'm just saying that since it evolves "early" compared to it's four fathers (again, this is In Character speak), I don't think it counts.

I don't know if I like Dragonite or Salamence better any more. *goes to look up what the shiny versions are*
Okay, definitely Dragonite. It has evil instead of red. (purple=evil in my mind, and I never did like the combination of red and green)
Tyranitar would probably be the winner in a fight. =/

Dragonite is at 55, I was misinformed. Salamence reaches its final form at 50.
I always thought Metagross was a psuedo too and it reaches its final form at 45. Which is lower than Garchomp's.
So.... EH! D:

Pseudo-legendary is a term commonly used to refer to any Pokémon that has a three-stage evolution line, two types, as well as a base stat total of 600. The term originates from the Greek verb Pseudo, which means to lie. Pseudo-legendaries are more powerful than many other non-legendary Pokémon, if only for their base stats, and in particular, have an outstanding Attack stat. Since the pseudo-legendaries are very powerful, they are commonly used by many Trainers in their teams. Three of the five pseudo-legendaries Pokémon are Dragon-type.
They include Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross and Garchomp
:D I say Garchomp.

Eh, forgot about Metagross, so I'll concede to Garchomp being a Psuedo. But I'll still probably take Tyranitar over the others, since I don't usually see Fighting-type moves being used, and having a Pokemon with an immunity to Psychic is pretty great.

Meteor Mash destroys Tyranitar though.

No offense, but we're up to the 4th Gen now. Complaining about how the new Pokemon are "just not that great" has been old since Gold and Silver came out.
We like that you like the original 150 Pokemon. Who doesn't? But don't keep your mind in the past like that. It makes look silly. Unless you REALLY, ABSOLUTELY dislike the 342 rest of the Pokemon (+ the 2 new ones).
Sure, I used to like the old Nickelodeon shows. Rugrats, Hey Arnold, etc. But that doesn't mean that the newer shows are total crap. Heck, I don't even watch them, so I can't judge.
Pick up a copy of Pokemon Diamond or Pearl and check it out for yourself, if you haven't yet. If you're not convinced, then you have every right to keep replaying Red, Blue and Yellow to your heart's content.
._.
With that said, Tyranitar is one hell of a beast.

Salamence has been among my favorites since 3rd gen, and with the introduction of draco meteor it's one heck of an offensive force. Tyranitar comes in a close 2nd because I like its defenses, like immunity to psychic, high def, high sp. def due to sandstorm, etc. etc. I've always thought that Dragonite was ugly. And it's pretty much a Salamence with worse attack and better defense.

I tend to avoid using the Psuedos since most of them are Physical Sweeper material and I'm a Special Sweeper type guy. I still say Dragonite and Salamence have the edge over Tyranitar because they're faster and have less weaknesses. Tyranitar has more resistances but Rock Slide isn't too reliable and Brick Break is far too common some Physical Sweepers and Focus Blast is the Anti-Tyranitar move (if it hits anyways)
