I've seen this on other vBulletin forums, it's where the Original poster and/or the mods, admins or other authoritative figures can ban specific unproductive users from posting in said thread, however they'll still be able to view the thread in question, just not post in it.
It would be a neat option to have to be honest to keep some threads from detouring into chaos from some users.

This thread will not end well.
As much as I don't like some people, i'm opposed to this because everyone deserves a right to speak.

I don't think such power should be given to regular users even if its the OP. Its more of a moderator's thing; should you have any problems they are the people you'd refer to.
And I say that because I don't like the idea of one person holding such power alone (bias/misjudgment), it should be a collective decision. However I'm fine if those are moderators which are accepted/chosen by the community for such tasks to begin with anyway.

Giving the OP the power to ban individuals isn't a great idea for really really really old threads like small questions.
But it still would work if they justify their bans.

Original posters in long threads are long gone anyway.

not necessarily. Either way I'm against this idea. The super mods are the ones who take care of troublesome users. If it's that bad, report the person and move on.

Here at nation our view of thread ownership is that of a public one.
Once you've posted a thread, its not really "your" thread anymore.

Don't want that kind of thing here, will just lead to drama between thread creators and people that aren't welcome in their threads.

OP i know your suggestion is not bad intentioned but everyones entitled to their opinnion, so its a no from me. In anycase if the guy that is not being "constructive" enough is acting like an asshat the mods should be the ones that deal with them.
