So I hear everyone and their mum talking about how great the new skills are. And how they're going to get to rank 1. In everything.
Howcome this is the case? These skills are like, 10 times harder then blacksmithing without an exp reforge, right? And they don't have talents, and don't have exp reforges, and even WITH exp reforges the current set of life skills are still grindy (albiet not unbearably so, by far).
I'm genuinely curious as to why everyone thinks they can do it O_O Or have the numbers been played up?

Think about it. Why are current skills so Grindy? Because. You. Get to levels where you must gather mats that don't provide training experience. Carp is an example. You get to a stage where firewood and average don't give experience. That's when it gets hard. So what then, if someone were able to afford not only togather the mats, but buy them too? Speeds up the process. And then one might have a guild helping them. I know my guild has a budget strong enough to fund lifeskillers for every skill. Also, both of the skills provide top tier weapons and armors.

That can go for certain people.
But i'm talking about practically
everyone. Like some guy I know that doesn't even have the patience for rank 4 windmill with an exp hat thinks he's getting rank 1 magic craft.

Unfortunately, I have to get rank3 Magic crafting, I'm not looking forward to it, but Its gotta be done.
It doesn't seem too horrible.

I'm going for at least rank 5 engineering so I can make my own gun. Likewise, i'm not looking forward to the grind but i'm excited for it.
I just don't know how everyone magically thinks "i kno i kan get r1 mc and engineruin in 2 nites cuz im awsomm!" ;_;

I got windmill to rank one before reforges came.. like.. when there were millions of people@TNN.
Edit: Are there going to be training potions for engineering, etc or just gunner?

Fuck rank1, I just want to activate the damn enchant.
I don't take too much interest in the wands/staves/bows though, the HD bullets and accessories will be nice.

People seem to be missing the point of this thread ;o; So let me try and clear it up.
I'm not saying that people in this community that are heavy grinders can't do it, since you probably can. I'm saying randoms on the market channel wearing a flashy dog robe with the aspiring chef title going "i'm gonna get rank 1 enginerin so i kan mek guns!111!"

Oh, well everyone can say they want to get it. But a few will be successful. Most will run out of patience. And oddly, I haven't encountered many people who want to r1 it. Just iirc tropa kenero , and this one person in my guild who we are funding for both engineering and magic craft. Other than that, most people are more excited for gunner
Edit: to answer your question, most people don't know the effort it takes to grind out lifeskills, and are being impractical. Tl;Dr NOOBS

I'd like to rank 1 but i'll be doing everything solo.
Other people would rather help other people, if that makes sense :o
I'm just worried about it taking me off the commerce routes for a while =_= xD

It's simply because they don't know how difficult it is.
Many of them will soon realize how unrealistic it is and give up at like rank 9.

rF~r9 is the piss easy part, r9+ is when the real fun begins.
