Yeah, the more I think about this, the more unrealistic it looks. :/
New Bern to Elizabeth City is 121 miles, over 2 hours drive. Doing 4 of those trips by cab is cost prohibitive. Even having changed the location to Edenton, that still requires two costly NB-EC trips, plus two ED-EC trips of 29 mi each. I have no idea how much that would cost, even if you could get a cab. It's certainly not gonna be close to "$100+"... dunno how accurate your $2/mi estimate is, but it would cost $600 for all trips if you went by that. o_o A bus would obviously be more realistic, but I have no idea if there's any available that suit your plan and I dunno if you looked into any specifics either.
Hitchhiking EB-NC could work, I suppose... if you're lucky. NB is a tiny town so I kind of doubt there would be anything on Craigslist. D:

After looking around a bit I realized that a Western Union transfer would be more practical. But with the cost estimates above as they are, I don't think it's realistic. :x

I'd definitely help, if I had more money. I could do maybe like $20 by western union, but that'd be it. And with these costs... yeah.. Cost me $75 when I was on the east coast for a 40 mile trip out of town, and you'd be looking for three times that, one way.

Oh, Yoorah, as much as I like you it's not uncommon for you to post similarly harsh things to people unnecessarily.
But as they said, it's hard to understand what you're asking for.
Ya, that was pretty uncalled for but considering it's Nithiel I can't say I'm surprised.

Now that he added mention of taking her to a hotel room and the fact that this is all secret so her father won't find out it sounds like an overcomplicated plan to get laid.

He's the one who's helping me fund a lot of this and he can hold me to it being his son.

No, changing the thing to Edenton would be more cost efficient. A bike ride to Edenton from New Bern wouldn't cost me anything and the only cost there would be the taxi drive from EC to Edenton and then Edenton to EC.

Yeah, I was expecting $60 for the 30 mile trip from EC to Edenton. Bus would require her dad to find out so taxi is the only real "alternative" option.

Biking from New Bern to Edenton would take over 7.5 hours according to Google Maps. And you'd be biking on a highway... with no bike lanes. Even if you are a good cyclist and can actually make this trip, it would still be dangerous due to the cars. When people are tired they are more prone to make errors as well. Are you and your dad really ok with that?

Too lazy to read everything but are you old enough to drive or have local friends who can that are willing to go on a road trip? At this point renting a car would solve all your problems.

I actually went through the entire street view and I got stops worked in and the streets aren't busy at all. That part of North Carolina is very foresty and calm.

I'd go through two other towns on the way there, each of them I plan on taking a small break. Either stop by some place for a salad or take some granola bars, bananas and a ton of water.

I only recently became a legal US Citizen, like a 2 months ago (not really afraid to say anymore since I'm legal now) but I was seriously not expecting any of this to happen so soon. I'd had gotten a job and my license sooner, but my friend really just poured all this onto me so soon.
It stresses me the heck out that if I would have just been given a few more weeks, just a month maybe....things would be a lot easier.

Well damn, you're actually serious about making that bike trip? I sure hope you know what you're getting yourself into... and that you have a phone with GPS (keep in mind that Google Maps will not load if you have no data network access unless you download the areas and save them in advance.. and even then some functionality, like search, doesn't work). I also hope you have taken into account the extra trip time for the purposes of finding a hotel, getting back to New Bern on time for your bus, and more importantly, so you don't get stuck riding in the dark.
Also, if you ride to Edenton then you will need to pay for 4 taxi trips. 4 x ~$60 = ~$240
Is your trip tomorrow and can we assume that you've got all of the details figured out?

The trip to New Bern is tomorrow, yes. I'd only have to pay for two taxi trips though. One to bring her to Edenton, one more to take her back. ~$60 x 2, and then the cost of the hotel is ~$140 for two nights (One night is if money is tight but two nights is preferred) and so that adds up to around ~$280. So safe side is $300 and thankfully I have been promised a bit more money so if things work out, I'd get ~$400 for the trip for expenses. That's a $100 safe zone.

If you want to do 2 taxi trips then you have to ride all the way to Elizabeth City, is what I meant. That's an extra 2.5 hrs. I hope you took this into account.
Regardless, I'm glad things are working somehow. I've been a bit nosy because I wanted to help, but I wouldn't want to commit anything unless I saw a solid plan from your side. As things stand, I could chip in $100 via Western Union, if you need it.

That would be really appreciated, seeing as I haven't slept because I've been waiting for a message from another friend who hasn't replied to me in a day.
It's fine though, it makes sense why you'd be nosy.

Just a heads up, google assumes you bike at 10 miles an hour. If you try biking a whole day, I believe that you'll probably average out at around 5, unless you're very used to making long distance bike trips.
In other words, your 7.5 hour trip will probably be 10+
