Lower the amount of programs that start when turning on the computer, replace the hard drive, or replace the ram chips.

How do i lower the amount of Programs and how hard is replacing a hard drive etc ?

Dunno about the hard-drive, I only know about the virtual aspects. Open msconfig, click startup, and uncheck the programs you don't need starting up with your program. If you click the wrong ones, your computer will break.

Instead of doing factory restore install a clean windows OS. Factory restores also include all the shit nobody wants from the manufacturers, in addition to free trials of things like antiviruses.
Just research all the drivers you will need before doing so, and download them onto a USB stick or CD.

Wait for your 200 windows updates, do those overnight.
Update your bios, update your drivers, etc etc.
