Last Minute Gunner Questions

  Okay,
  
  This is your chance to get any wild questions about gunner here before the release in 4-5 hours. The Test Team and I will answer the best to our ability. We may not have all the answers but we will help.
  
  The questions here must be related to guns. Listed below are examples that is okay and not okay to ask.

  How grindy is Engineering, on a scale of 0 to Blacksmithing?
  
  How stamina (or mana?) heavy can we expect spamming gunner skills to be? Assuming r1 skills, am I gonna need as many potions to spam gun skills as I usually do for range or magic?
  
  Are there any penalties for using heavy armour with guns? Given that they don't rely on dexterity, post-armour-change heavy armour still looks viable for gunnery, is there anything that would change that?

  Engineering: Ranking Blacksmith from rank F to rank 1 on no reforges, no double rainbow, or talent... 9 times in a row.
  
  Mana and Stamina cost, not too bad, but once you hit rank 1, you'll be running out now and then thanks to constantly using Shooting Rush and Bullet Storm. However MP Pots will take care of the problem. If I have to say, it's like using Crash Shot in terms of MP and Stamina use.
  
  Heavy Armor is great with guns, granted you're not planning to use any dex-based skills, (like using combos like gun + melee [lances, swords, etc.], gun + magic, gun + alchemy, for giants, gun + fighter is ok). It not only grant you GREAT defense, but the ping may actually give you enough stun ignore to set up shooting rush and execute it.
  
  However it's not a good option if you're going to range, use MA (outside being a giant), or puppetry.

  Pretty much max damage.
  
  Though for guns, Officier, Crocodile, Automatic are all good.
  
  Semi-automatic is a reward for completing the gun quest, it's a weaker form of Automatic.
  
  Remember that guns do take in +STR and +INT enchants but other than that, it's better to do +max damage.
  
  Though if you have low crit, Restored may be a good option if you have no access to the Lord enchants or oblivion or ancient for your set.

  Not too easily, though if it helps you can do Shooting Rush RIGHT after doing blaze.
  
  Or, if on a good connection... Closer - > get near the enemy with stun, switch to a wand, then perform blaze.
  
  Some weird combos after blaze: After you blaze the enemy - > Closer - > Cross Buster for that nice 800% damage!
  
  
  You may discover more combos than me as you use it.

  You need bullets in your inventory to use gun skills (as of version 2-3). And yes, different levels of bullets affect the bonus.
  
  There's three types:
  
  Magic Bullet for Practice - +5 max damage (can be bought from NPC or Crafting)
  Magic Bullet - +10~15 [I forgot exactly] (can only be made from crafting)
  Magic Bullet HD - +20 maximum damage [fyi HD stands for High Density... as if it is High Density Mana] - (can only be made from crafting)
  
  
  Most likely you'll us the Magic Bullet for Practice more than the other two versions.

  Jesus christ kill me now. Thanks for the answers Kenero. Not gun related I suppose, but Magic Crafting just as bad? Also on the note of magic bullets, for let's say 20 minutes of gathering, about how many HD bullets would I be able to make?

  Great question!
  
  First, Reload and Gun Mastery SHOULD be treated like Chain Mastery of Martial Arts or training Critical Hit. You should ALWAYS rank them when possible. Other than that, do this first:
  
  Rank Shooting Rush alongside reload and gun mastery.
  
  However, reload always comes first, example:
  
  You are level 200/30 [well for argument sake], you just have enough AP to rank Shooting Rush from r3 - > r2, however as soon as you get the last level up (from level 199->200), you notice that reload has just became available to rank up. You know once you rank up reload, you will not have enough AP to rank Shooting Rush and the next time you rank it, you have to wait two weeks til you rebirth to get Shooting Rush to rank 2... You will rank Reload over Shooting Rush, even if you have to wait.
  
  That's how important Reload is. Don't even try to focus on ranking it alone first, and only alone, rank it alongside. If you get Shooting Rush to rank 1, and reload is still r7, the next skill will be treated the as Shooting Rush, meaning Reload comes first... other than that, rank it to this order:
  
  

  
  
  1. Shooting Rush < Dual Gun Mastery < Reload
     
  2. Bullet Storm or Cross Buster
     
  3. Once you finish those two, rank up Frenzy
     
  4. Faraway
     
  5. Closer
