The true equation is:
[(600+200) * 1.2] * 1.15 = 1104%
Red is the base smash multiplier. Blue is the bonus from reforge. Green is the two-handed weapon boost. And Orange is the Thames set boost.
Thank you I had no idea it worked like that. The guides a work in progress and i appreciate your input.
I agree that a upgraded/R broad axe is the best. What would you recommend as a giant ego if any? Or not waste time with an ego b/c they are all bad and time consuming(which is my opinion)
I'll get to changing that now

Honestly there isn't really a good ego for giants. I mean iron mace is really good. But it's beaten easily by two r6 Wyllow Dominator Warhammers. I've done a ton of Maths, if you can't tell. Egos are more or less just a money sink.

Not sure if its a rumor but I heard they might be buffing egos? or adding new ones. They def need a revamo ever since upgrades stones came in.

Personally, I just used an untamed crocodile battle hammer. When upgraded for max damage, the damage is just slightly behind a titanic crocodile broad axe, and it's much easier to obtain, and I used blue stones on it because I feel that in my every-day life, things die with a crit anyways, so I want to get the most out of my non-crit damage. Plus it's cheaper and more hipster.

I would like to see the math for maxed ego iron mace with wyllow dominator r6 warhammer vs two of the warhammers. The older Royal Giant Knight guide clearly showed dps advantage to the ego iron mace and warhammer combo. Only difference was horn instead of dominator suffix on warhammers. Not worried about cost comparisons.
Much thanks,
Koto

Iron Mace ego: 240 max.
r6 x-grade Wyllow Dominator Warhammer: 124 max and 42% critical dmg.
Pretty sure 116 raw max beats 42% critical dmg. Because 42% critical dmg is only the equivalent of +8.7% average damage, and there is not enough dmg in the game for 8.7% average dmg improvement to match or beat a raw 116 dmg boost.
Edit: Personally, though, I like Broad Axe ego for OP non-crit GFS dmg and because Lances pretty much killed off dual-wield in future content.

Slowly, updating. This guide was bigger than i imagined.

Let's see. X-Grade Warhammer = 91 max upgraded. Wyllow = 12 max. Dominator is 15 max and 10 str per. So 118 + 8 = 126 max per with dual wielding. 126 * 2 = 252 + 60 (Blunt mastery) = 312 before stats/gear. Let's take the same stats from my previous math. 60 max from gear = 372 max. 600 str out of trans, 240 max. So 612 max, which is VERY simple for a giant.
612 Max for 2x WD Whammers
334% crit damage.
Let's use smash for this example.
600% smash multiplier.
3672 damage non-crit.
12264 Crit
Now 1 WD + Iron mace capped. 1 WD is 122 max. Ego capped is 240. 122 + 240 + 60 = 422. 422+ 60 + 240 = 722 max.
722 max for WD Whammer + capped IM ego
292% crit damage
600% smash
4332 non-crit
12649 crit
So it seems you do have more with an ego. But the problem is. As your strength/max gets higher, the dual r6 shine more. Which is where the difference comes in. Percentages always beat out base values.
If we add in a 25% overture to that.
2x WD overture
765 max
4590 non-crit
15330 crit.
1x + ego overture
902 max
5412 non-crit
15803 crit
The values become closer. Frankly I used really low stats to compare, and a pretty simple damage set too. I can get close to ~100 max with my damage set.
In any case. If you're aiming for endgame. The two Warhammers will be a lot easier to make than a max level iron mace ego. And will outdamage it too.

This really makes me want to play as a giant.
Someone should make a guide for humans.

Frankly I feel like for an end-game damage set for a giant. I would do a Thames set, seeing as S2 is coming out eventually. But still. You can get good plate enchants and a good amount of defense/protection.
Helm: Oblivion/Nostalgic Dexterity.
Body: Sight/Conceptual Champion.
Gloves: Steel Needle Camo/Elegant
Boots: Viscount/Oblivion/Nostalgic Camo/Elegant
That's just a base idea. The reason Sight and Elegant are in there, are because of S2. A cap of 50% balance from dex, 15% from combat mastery. You'll need to fill in the other 15% somehow.
I plan on doing puppets soon on my Giant. So I'd probably go for the Nostalgics over Oblivion. Since it'd be only one less max. And I'd probably do Burlesque as the prefix on both the gloves and boots.
But that's just my 2 cents. =P

I main human Archery so I'm pretty over doing lifeskills on another character, is Dex/Balance a major concern for Giant Melee/Fighter Hybrid? I dont want to go through refine and weaving again...
YOLO - You only lifeskill once
