ES Online adopts subscription model

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. I'm glad it is subscription based since that usually means quality, both from the company and as a filter for a large potion of the very young audience who tend to be annoying.

But the game looks like shit from the videos I saw some time ago so I'm not sure I'll even try.

The problem is that they took Skyrim and then reduced the responsiveness of attacks.
In Skyrim, the enemies would flinch from arrow attacks and there's a strong sounding sound effect
while in the videos of ES online, the arrows didn't really do much and the player was spamming arrow shots.

My problem with it is it just doesn't look like you have the freedom you did in all the "real" ES games. The only reason I even played those games was for that sandboxy freedom set in pretty awesome worlds/settings. I never cared so much about the combat system/mechanics.
Also the graphics could use a lot of improving, but that's unlikely since it's an MMO.

Well, that's pretty lame, then. What's the point for paying for a subscription when the game will be crippled by cash shop anyway? May as well stick to crappy F2P MMOs then.

I agree with both of these. I'd rather play a subscription game any day, unless it has stupid F2P/P2W features like cash shops and gachas.

The game itself doesn't seem that impressive to me though.
