Is Farming for you?
Farming is easy, it requires no skill at all, but it requires time. If you feel like you could get 100k a day from doing dungeons, I would recommend you didn't bother farming, or else you probably will loose potential income. Farming is something you can do if you have stuff to do, but every half hour or so(*) you can click a button on your computer. Remember, you pay 30k for a plot of land, if you cant take care of it as described later in the guide, farming can waste gold and time.
*To be explained later, its not really every half hour.
What you will need
30500 gold to start out.
Availablity to click 10 times every day for a week (But with at least 20 minutes between clicks)
Starting out:
So, you've chosen to put the time in to a farm, your going to get a nice chunk of gold at the end of the week! In order to start out you just have to follow a few simple steps!
First, make your way to Taillteann. And head to Blatt the farm manager located as shown below
[Image: http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/8646/filetaicity1jpg.jpg]
Now talk to Blatt and request to lease a plot of land for 30k (this lease lasts for 7 real days), if there is a plot immediately available, you can buy it, if not, there are several things you can do.
1) Change channels: When someone leases a plot of land, it is on the channel that they leased it from, so each channel has a chance of an open plot of land, there are 90 plots of land per channel, which means if you are on Ruairi,Mari, or Tarlach, you have 630 chances of finding an open plot of land, sorry Alexina, you only have 450 chances.
2) Apply to queue for it: Pretty much, if theres no land available, you can be placed on a waiting list for a plot of land, if 5 hours have passed since the player before you finished with the plot of land (Or it expired), you can pay for it when its available, but if you are not available to pay for the plot it will be passed to the next person waiting.
So after you pay 30k and get a plot of land, talk to Blatt again, and go to his shop, you have a choice of 5 crops, all for 500 gold, Tomato, Cabbage, Eggplant, Pumpkin and Strawberry. But WAIT, not all crops are created equal.
[Image: http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/4517/capture13123.jpg]
So which crop should you pick? Its really up to you, if you know you have time, you can try the harder crops, otherwise, if its your first time, I would recommend Cabbages, because Cabbages are easy and give you a nice lump of gold at the end of the week.
So now you have your farm plot, and your seeds, check your mini map for the location of your land (marked by a flag), (remember its only on the channel you bought it on), make your way there!
Now plant whatever seeds you purchased onto the plot of land.
So now you have your farm
This is where things start happening, you have crops growing on your plot of land, but you need to take care of them, heres how.
NOTE: To check on your farm, click on the sign located right next to your plot, it will tell you about the current status of your three meters, your growth, and if you click on the tab on the top, it will tell you when your lease will expire.
You have three actions (from the actions menu) available to you, Watering, Fertilizing, and Bug Catching.
[Image: http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/9357/captureum.jpg]
In order to use one of these actions, you must be on your plot of land, you can only use one at a time, and you can check how much time is left by using an action outside of your plot (as to not accidentally use that action). You may only use 10 actions per day.
But how do you know which action to use? I recommend using this site Mabinogi Farm Advisor simply input the type of crop, and the three action meters values, and it will tell you what action to use next. (remember to make sure the numbers are updated correctly). Keep doing this 10 times a day, until you reach 100% on your growth meter, and good job, you've finished, now only harvesting remains.
Harvesting
Okay, so once your growth meter has reached 75% your gain the ability to harvest your crops but it is better to wait untill your meter has reached 100% as you will get more crops. So once you are at 100% click the harvest button, and after 5 real hours, the crops will be located in your inbox, take them out, head over to Blatt, sell them to him, and you now have a nice sized amount of gold!

NOTES
1)Once a farming action has started, logging out or ending the game will NOT stop the action.
2) The crops visible shape on your lot change when the growth meter is at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.
3) Once you hit harvest, your safe from the lease expiring, even if their are less then 5 hours remaining, your crops are still safe.
4) When checking when your lease will expire, remember all times on the history tab are in PDT.
5) If you have not harvested your crops when your lease expires they will be automatically harvested, although you will receive less then if you harvested them.
6) The crops have many different values, this is because depending upon how many of that type of crop have been sold to Blatt recently, the value will change, every maintenance the value is reset to base.
7) The three meters, (H20, FERT,and BUG) decrease over time.
8) When selling the crops to Blatt, you can receive payment as a check, although there is a 5% fee, and the amount is rounded down to the nearest 10k. Although the gold lost may still be less then the amount lost by buying gold bags.
9)
This will come in the form of a check in the mail. I can confirm that you get a refund of 30k if you do not tend your farm. If you plant seeds, you only lose 500 gold.
Questions:
1.
So...what happens if you're not there after 20/30/40 minutes to perform the next action? I'm guessing the crops die but how quickly does it happen? o.o
But the thing is, nothing happens, you dont HAVE to do the next action as soon as you finished the first, you have 24 hours to do the 10 actions, the only thing is you cant use another one while your using the first one. But you could do like 3 in the morning, then after a couple hours go back and do 4 more, then finish 5 hours later with the last 3....
Also, if you miss a couple actions it doesnt necessarily mean your going to fail, you could still get to 100%.
Special thanks to Orion!
