Introduction:
LOCO Online, otherwise known as Land of Chaos Online is a new MMO published by Alaplaya. You can choose between 12 heroes each specializing in certain areas of combat. The point of the game is to destroy the enemies various bases and eventually their HQ or kill a certain number of bosses before the other team. The graphics are absolutely great. I thought I wasn't going to be able to run it smoothly at all, but surprisingly I can.

Game Modes:
LOCO Online is set up like S4 League where there is a lobby and you must choose rooms, or just use quick join.

LOCO has 2 modes at the moment, Battlefield and Annhilation.
- Battlefield is a mode where you have to destroy your enemies base to win. Enemy base points spawn minions that have a specific AI. Strewn throughout the maps are mineral points. Mineral points are areas of contested strongholds. Meaning you must fight the other team to control this point. Once you have control of a Mineral Point you will periodically gain gold. You use gold in the maps store to buy potions/armor/weapons/etc. Once you destroy an enemy HQ, a super boss will spawn. Once you kill the super boss it's.....

- Annhilation is a PvP mode where you can play all the way up to 8vs8 and instead of destroying base to win, you have to kill 30 enemies before enemy team does it.
There are only a few maps at the moment, and the maps are designed specifically for only 1 kind of game mode. Total there are only 4 maps, but the maps are large, free roam, and uniquely varied. You connect to other players on a Peer 2 server 2 Peer. Sorta like S4L again but if a player is lagging, it wont hinder your gameplay unless your the one lagging.

Important tidbits:
- There is no cash shop in LOCO as of yet, since it is only in the open beta phase but you can definitely expect one.
- Use the 30 day trial cards wisely!!!! Once you make a hero YOU CAN NOT DELETE THEM! This function is a huge annoyance since you are stuck with a hero if you don't like em.
- Players are given the option at the start to chose “Beginner†or “Expert†mode. Selecting beginner mode means the game will automatically distribute your skill points and purchase items. Expert mode allows you to distribute your own skill points and buy your own items.
- Upgrading the Training Camp buffs your whole team.
- Upgrading the Recall Spot lowers recall cooldown
- Use recall before you get killed to become invincible as you are teleporting back to base
No matter what game mode your playing teamwork is vital to achieve total victory. If your team is not working together lose all hope of ever winning. This being said... if a team mate quits during a match you will be outnumbered for the rest of the match unless they come back and intrude the game, or the leader has allowed intrusions. If you are stuck on a team down a member you need to all work together and concentrate your firepower on specific targets.

Skills and what not:
It is strongly recommended that you complete the in game tutorial as this is a completely new way of fighting. Hero's can only level up within a game's time period. Once the game is over your hero loses all skill levels and individual levels. So no character will ever achieve max skill level and just be a complete powerhouse. If you've played LoL http://mabination.com/mabination-community/general-discussions/entertainment/2337-2cent-review-league-legends-lol.html then you'll feel at home here. In fact you'll have a slight advantage over players new to this concept.

Item Shop:
To counter-act that fact is the item shop. You can use the item shop to buy items/upgrades for equipment for your hero. Equipment is specific to in game hero level. At a certain level (1,5,7,11 or something like that :x) your equipment will change. Setting up your equipment in the item shop can greatly help your hero in battle. Items are bought using gold, which you earn upon completing mission boards and by winning or losing matches.
Gameplay:
Whats good about LOCO is the ability to change your hero when you die. But you can only choose between 3. By having 3 heroes with different capabilities you can easily adapt to any situation. Some heroes are good for destroying enemy structures while others are good for a quick stun and kill. Similar to LoL expect matches to take anywhere up to 30 minutes or more. In order to earn gold you can conquer mineral points, or kill enemy minions/bases. Leveling up your account (not heroes) is based off a ranking system. Your rank changes who you play with. A high ranked player will not be matched with newbies, and vice versa.

Reputation:
Rage-quitting/leaving a match will result in a penalty for the player who left. Next to your name in a room are these faces. The faces depict your reputation as a committed player, or likely quitter.
Smiling faces means you are most likely to stay the whole match.
Content faces means you have quit once or twice.
Angry faces means you are now eligible to be kicked from any room and that you have quit more then 3 times.
[Image: http://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae153/bradstrt_2010/Shot00115.jpg]
Angry faces also don't get an additional reward upon finishing a match. This discourages players from rage-quitting and/or leaving. Be wary though, going AFK for too long will auto-kick you from a room and drop your reputation.
Conclusion
This game is extremely fun, very pleasing to the eye and overall a great piece of work. It runs very smooth even with graphics turned up all the way, which makes the experience even better. Although some features are annoying, they don't disturb the awesomeness experienced while playing. Just make sure you have plenty of time to finish a match and your good to go.
See you on the battlefield!
(all pictures were taken by me, while playing the game)
