Unfortunately for me all my math teachers were all like, here, use this scientific calculator to calculate your cos/tan/sin so I never learned how to do it properly or if I did, I never remembered it.
wtf... you can't be serious.

Guess the teachers at my rural Pre-K through 12th weren't very thorough. We did proofs at least. Plus it's American schools mind you. American Public Education fucking sucks.

Well I hope you at least learned SOH CAH TOA.
Our math teacher was cool and taught us to remember this for ever as some sort of a tribal chant.

They did teach us that. Would be beyond retarded if they didn't teach us that. They also taught us good old FOIL

High school math teachers aren't really trained to teach calculus
they just give the job to the most senior teacher

I'm still upset about some of the thins I was forced to take that aren't actually useful to me. I've forgotten most of math already because I just don't use it.

Such is life unfortunately :/
70% of the stuff I learned in college I never used.

The point of school is to open doors for you. You may only use 30% of what you learn in college, but the problem is that you don't know in advance which 30% this will be.
Less qq, more [S]math[/S] pewpew.

Fair enough point. It did at least put me on a carrier path and landed me a good job. So can't really complain on that front.

Actually my AP Calculus teacher's absolute favorite math subject is Calculus, so I'm good there.

Yep, buried almost all of my calculus and most of my trigonometry and some of my advanced geometry.
Never used it, i need a 1 week refresher course to remember it all.

I may not have been the greatest at math, but I downloaded a 99cent graphing calculator on my phone and have used that forever. I never understood why anyone needed anything more before university level, sure I couldn't use it in class, but I didn't need it to take notes and listen to lecture, I needed it for homework.
Then again I have never been the best at math... I got constant Cs or Bs except in things like geometry for some reason.
