Discovered Polar Hornets today. They're in Silva Forest in Physis. When you kill one, there's a small chance (I would estimate under 10% from my experience) that they may leave a glowing patch that can be harvested for white herbs. If you can kill these efficiently, you will no longer need to spam Peaca for white herbs!

Handy tip, but this has been around for quite a while.

You can also use a partner's Gathering to gain even more herbs from the patches.

I just collected them and rank up my Herbalism from Rank-C to Rank-B.
But only for that rank, I won't going there again XD (Hard to Kill and only a small chance of 10sec white herb patch).
PS. I still think it is alternative way for low-level like me to gather white herb. Maybe if my Herbalism is Rank-6, I'll go there again :P.

Talk about pointless difficulty... you either need to grind through Peaca or kill multiple thousand 3000 HP hornets to rank up Potion Making by making two potions, one of which is completely useless and does not stack while the other is rarely used and requires a lot of mining expeditions.....
WHY!?

The hornets have spider AI. From my experience, if you flame burst 2 hornets at the same time, they follow you around without attacking you (you have to hit them before they aggro you).
You can then proceed to gather the other polar hornets with flame burst (they will all be put into their alert stage) and just wreak all of them with subsequence flame bursts. Tadah?

[S]Welcome to Mabinogi Life Skills, the part of the game where you're bleeding your eyes out and you want to grab your keyboard and mouse and smash it on your screen, and where it says
"Life Skills" but most of the time you need to actually battle enemies to find the required materials for certain skills (namely Hillwen Engineering, Blacksmithing, Magic Craft, etc)[/S]

Thanks for the info, but I was griping about the difficulty in obtaining them in comparison to how useful they are...
And I don't have a high-ranked Flame Burst so there goes that.

A 5 charged/chain-casted splashed Lightning Bolt can work too.

So basically any AoE skill that doesn't cause the monster to fall flat on it's back. That's new to me. I am learn-din-ing 8D

Windmill works too I believe but the problem usually is that your Windmill is strong enough to kill the enemies immediately so you cant mob them effectively like Flame Burst, Lightning Bolt, Stomp.
Also since most of the time the Hornets are spread apart, Flame Burst and Lightning Bolt would be hard to pull off. [S]That's why Stomp is the master skill.[/S]
