Russia convinced Syria to place their chemical weapons under international control.
Now there's no longer reason for the US to shove their large military penis in Syria's face.
Let's see what happens.

Not really the whole US. The US soldiers didn't really want to go to Syria. Even most Americans oppose the missile strikes.
More like a bunch of old people making decisions on their own and pissing off the people who voted for them.

The russians may look like the good guys now, but we tried to deal with Syria diplomatically 2 years ago before it got to this point and the russians were the ones that got in the way of it.
Russia has a financial interest in Syria and we were about to ruin that with strikes, they had no choice but to do something

It's only partially about the chemical weapons and mostly about the gas. Russia is a huge supplier of natural gas in Europe and doesn't want to lose it. The Arabs gain a lot if the US gains control of the pipeline.

The way I see it is the US population elected the people who are acting like monkeys in the government. So a majority of the voting population have decided this is how they wish to be represented.
Whether it's about the chemical weapons or not doesn't matter, we all know it's for financial reasons, it always is. The chemical weapons is the excuse they're trying to use though, which was pretty flaky to begin with with there being no solid evidence which side did it. Now that excuse isn't valid any longer. Obama is probably raging.

Congress has higher approval rating (10%) than the strike on syria (9%).
And americans prefer LOTs of things over congress.

Obviously. Did you think US or Russia are doing this just because they are being nice? In this case Russian's move prevents needless loss of lives, so yay Russia.

Other countries have been asking the U.S. to invade Syria.
Arab countries offered to carry all the costs.

Knew that for a while now, most of them are selfish pricks who just want to see the conflict end quickly so their economy don't get disrupted, or they are US allies who does whatever US says anyway (Japan, France). It's not really ground for justification for US bombing.

So, I don't know if this is old news to you guys in the states, but we just got a broadcast over here showing a speech from Obama that basically said "Screw you russia, they made gas and we're going to nuke the crap out of them".
I don't like where this is headed.
EDIT: And now they just aired something saying Obama supports a peaceful resolution.
What is going on, media pls.

I've always seen politics as simply voting for the less horrible choice... So honestly, I doubt you can represent a population by the people elected.

Obama is just pretty much out of control. One of the main reasons people voted for him is because he was supposed to be an anti-Bush, and that meant staying OUT of the wars. The people voted for someone who promised to not do exactly this. It's not the people's fault at this point...there's litterally nothing that can be done about it without some extremely major changes.

Im almost certain the message was saying we would see how the Russian agreement played out, and then decide how to proceed? If the Russian arrangement works out it would make the necessity for a strike lessen.
