Looking for a college laptop that can do some light to medium gaming

I just want something I can take through college and have handy at any time I may need it and be able to play my favorite games like Mabi and skyrim and be able to run games in the future like Destiny or something on medium to low and play with good Fps My biggest worries are not being silent during class and instead of its listed battery life (like 5 hours for example) the computer dies in like 2 without any games on. I'm looking at you dell.

Suggestions help me. MY budget is like 1,200 give or take a few. (mostly take) but my birthdays coming up so maybe give?

Feed suggestions now. Sorry if bad post, I can clarify if needed. post away..! :full:

    1. I want a laptop that could run a game like crysis 3 (just an example, most likely won't play this game on medium graphics with a decent fps

You can't do this on a budget of 1200 dollars.

I'm not really looking to game, I chose crysis because I remember that every pc gamer used to put their pc to the test by playing crysis. That's all I was trying to say :x. Anyways I'm liking this

I'll probably the keyboard addon If I actually bought this. But would it really be a good choice for mainly college activities with some mabi and skyrim (maybe amnesia?)

Edit: most likely I' wont be doing much gaming except mabi but this thing looks really interesting and I love portable and small.. I'm wierd. Though could probably get a thinner more conventional tablet with windows 8 on it. hmm

Oh list of games I actually play: mabinogi, Binding Of Isaac, Skyrim, Minecraft rarely, Cube World, Guns Of Icarus and Cave story +, I'll probably get destiny either way even if I can only run it on low settings But I'm not really looking for eye shattering amazing graphics.

By college Activities I mean pulling it out and just writing a paper and typing for a couple of hours or doing homework etc. I've just started my first semester and I'm computer science major. So I didn't get into any classes that require me to design or try and make anything. Mainly just math classes and history and this epic gym class I got into. No pc for that class required. I do a lot of my homework at school so that's why I was hoping for something portable but powerful.

Just get a nice cheap portable laptop and then a gaming desktop. I've been through this "college laptop with light gaming" threads a million times before and this is the best advice I can give that no one ever follows.

To run skyrim you're probably going to need to step up from a normal laptop to a gaming laptop. Gaming laptops are big, bulky, and not portable whatsoever. Terrible for college.

The laptop's GPU is Intel HD4000 and NVIDIA GT 640M (gaming one)

It will run skyrim on medium settings (1366x768 Medium Preset 4xAA) at 4X FPS

Skyrim on low is fine as long as has a 40-60 fps constantly. I'm thinking an ultra book or the Razer edge pro. [S]Maybe I should just get a mac.[/S]

Okay I can do that. A gaming desktop is only 600 to 800 dollars. But first I'd like to get a laptop that can last and this will take all my money so screw the gaming I guess. So maybe an Ultrabook around 1200 dollars?

You may as well go to a place like Rent a Center or Aaron's and get a laptop there.

    I've never heard of either ;_;

    I beg to differ Tay.

But If you're able to as everyone else said, desktop for gaming, laptop for college.

    Welp a few days late.

    Sager NP8235
    Sager NP8265

But honestly, if you're getting $1,200 I suggest on spending half of it on a custom desktop and half of it on a laptop, preferably an ultrabook.

    But it's your call.
