And her new "friends" are horrible influences. I can't believe how stupid she's become. And reckless.

I guess I didn't

but there is a "supposedly good friend" that just upped and left without a word (supposedly cause he was basically a self proclaimed best friend)

and then I called him a --- for not telling me what's wrong, he rants to me about it on myspace and uses stereotypical nerd insults plus a few "big words"

and if you can't help, I suppose she'll learn the hard way, if she doesn't, chances are you never knew her to begin with

Yea, I've wanted to save a looooot of people but couldn't. I think my "saving" is a lot different from yours, though. It was more of a... trying to keep their heart intact but not being able to.

You can't save everyone but you can probably make a difference to a few.

If you can't get into direct contact with that friend, try ways like e-mail or phone messaging with some inspiration messages.

You cannot prevent heartaches, those are lessons they need to learn to deal with, but you can help to ease them.

I feel like I'm about to be in that situation.
I'm leaving for college tomorrow and a friend of mine (who used to be a good friend but she really has annoyed me now) She has changed so much and she wants to "experiment" she sees the college life is all about "hard core partying and sex"
Like I can see her being a sloppy drunk and get out of control taking advantage of everything and I can see her being reckless, like I feel bad cause idk if I want to be involved cause I know she will pressure me and stuff (I will experience college life but I'm gonna be "classy") and I don't want that drama.

but yeah I feel like I will have this happen.

God yes.

You just mentioning this kind of re-opened some pains of mine when I lost a friend to influences like that. She was a good person, close friend of mine, but after high school graduation, she ran away with her boyfriend. Nobody expected it, everybody thought she was a great person and was doing fine.

Me and a few friends spent months, months trying to contact her to try to get her to come back. We had only 2 successful contacts, and each time, she shut us off from her.

A lot of us ended up crying and having those uneased minds whenever we thought about her.

Then one by one, we all just gave up and moved past it. I raged about it so much when I gave up. Emotions were hurting, and I ended up declaring my friend dead despite none of us knowing what happened to her. I moved on, but it still hurts.

That was 3 years ago.

Change sucks. That's why I condemn the natural occurrence of "aging / maturing" as a disease.

Thinking back, there was this one time where I was at an amusement park and there was an emergency where the Ferris Wheel stopped and all the doors were unlocked. That time, I thought it would be awesome if I could do something like jump in the air and magically sprout buff, muscle wings and fly to the rescue. Instead, I looked on and drank a mountain dew saying, "Daaaaaaammn."
