Everything about the MMO, that I've seen so far, looks amazing. It seems like it's designed from the ground up to be extremely dynamic, fully-destructible environment, player-built cities and towns built from the ground up, story/lore advances concurrently with the game and is based on the decisions and events of the server as a whole, and other stuff.

The only thing I've yet to see is the combat or what it'll be like. I'm really hoping that the combat system is good, because while everything looks amazing, the combat can make or break it for me.

$20 says the combat will be the same hotbar skill spam of WoW, Guild Wars 2, and the like.

If you look at the video, that golem smash has a very specifically shaped AoE for terrain destruction, that alludes to a more dynamic, action combat system. I have my hopes high, but I'll see.

So was GW2. It's very hard to break away from the WoW formula, you can only deviate certain mechanics. Especially since MMOs are some of the most expensive games you can make. I'm not expecting EverQuest Next to be a bad game. I'm just not expecting it to change the way I view MMOs as a whole.

It's not impossible to break from wow format. I consider mabi more similar to UO than wow. Anyways its like most games that promise innovation are just copy and paste with flying tossed in like in Aion for example. GW2 promised this amazing world where everything effects the world but it barely changes.

Its not impossible to make a new mmo that completely changes the usual experience and changes every core aspect but most companies want their money now and will give their game tons of false hype.. I believe they can make the game truely innovate but it entirely depends on how much effort they really want to put forward.
