It would be awesome if they stopped the anime and restarted with Red's story. This ones fucking dark, I love it.

Dat nostalgia
This how the Pokemon anime should've been from the beginning.
But well, Ash's story was okay the first season or two though.
I liked how the Pokemon when talking don't repeat their name over and over but use their cry instead like it should be
also just saw episode 2.. holy shit. Team rocket actually kill pokemon in this one.

Not that graphic. lol
The other anime makes you believe that Pokemon cant die and can only faint for some reason, at least from what I remember from years ago.

I'm enjoying it so far, but it feels like it's skipping around a little too fast. I mean, at the end of the first episode, Red defeated Brock and was getting ready to enter Mt. Moon, but then we find him in Lavender Town, with only a very brief recap of what happened in between the two episodes. I'm not saying that the show needs to be 50 episodes long, and fully detail the events of the game in anime fashion, step by step literally, but break it down. Do like they did in the first episode: have the story part of the game be presented in the first 10 minutes or so, and then have it lead up to, and have the fight with the gym leader, with the occasional episode that's entirely game-plot related, like the second one.
For example, in episode two, it could have started off with Red finding and catching a Clefairy or something, upon which he over hears Team Rocket. Red fights, and defeats the grunts, and (skipping the battle with the Supernerd, which they seem to be doing a good job on doing in this special) end up in Cerulean City just as the Grunt is escaping with the Dig TM. Red quickly beats him (and I figure you could have Charmander evolve at this point just to get it out of the way, since most people's Charmanders were already evolved by this point in the original games) when the police and Misty arrive. Misty is impressed and asks Red to come and battle her at the Gym. Naturally Misty gets the upper hand, but this is the episode where Red learns how to use strategy and not just brute strength and hopes to win the match like he did in the fight against Brock. Naturally, Red comes out on top, so Misty gives him the Cascade Badge and Water Pulse (since the outfits so far match FR/LG instead of R/G/B/Y (except Brock in his Gen IV outfit)), as well as the S.S. Ticket (to save on time, since in the first game, Bill really was a minor character).
Then for like episode three, it would obviously start off on the S.S. Anne in the battle against Green and meeting the Captain who would give Red the Cut HM, have Red explore around the area and show him preparing for his fight with Surge, and then show Red learning how to solve puzzles on the go, which furthers his development as a trainer. Then the fourth episode could have been the Pokemon Tower, where, like the games, the viewers would eventually realize that Team Rocket is actually a pretty diabolical group instead of just a bunch of petty thieves going by the run ins you had before.
Episode 5 could have been the battle against Erika before raiding the Rocket Base under the Game Corner. 6 would be Red exploring the Safari Zone then ending with the fight with Koga. 7 is obviously Silph Co. 8 would be the fighting dojo (as filler) and Sabrina. 9 could be the Seafoam Islands and Red's run in with Articuno. 10 would be the Pokemon Mansion to learn more about Team Rocket's ultimate plans and fighting Blaine. 10 is the final showdown with Giovanni. 11 would be Red arriving at the Indigo Plateau and fighting Lorelei and Bruno. 12 would be Agatha and Lance. 13 would be the final showdown with Green. And if they didn't want to make 13 a longer episode, then 14 could be Red trying to calm down Mewtwo, upon which we would end up seeing the Mega Evolutions in action to obviously promote X/Y. That's an entire season right there that Nintendo could have used as further promotion for the new games, as well as a big "thank you" to the fans who have been with them for nearly 20 years.
But that's really my biggest flaw I have with this show. I did enjoy a lot of the other stuff, for example, the relationship between Red and Green. What started off as a friendly rivalry, which is obvious when they greeted each with smiles in front of the lab and were willing to examine the Pokedex that Oak gave to Red for a bit without fighting over it, again with smiles on their faces. But then Green got a little upset and then bitter that Red didn't understand what it meant to be a Pokemon Trainer (that's my interpretation anyways, since Brock said himself that Squirtle came to trust Green, which is why Squirtle defeated Charmander with ease, and not because of the type advantage, which wasn't brought up until the fight with Brock), but after the Pokemon Tower, they were again lightheartedly joking around with each other over the events that just occurred. Though after this, I figure that Green will now be jealous of how quickly Red is improving as a trainer, and will forget about what it means to be a trainer just so that he can be the strongest, of which we will hear in Oak's lecture to Green after Red becomes champion.
Another thing I liked was how Brock asked if Red had any badges before picking his Pokemon. This wasn't touched upon in the games until BW2 where Cheren complains about not being allowed to use his regular team, and had to use a Pokemon League approved team. While obviously in the games, the Gyms got harder because the game was linear, and story-wise, Brock would have to be the first Gym Leader you had to fight, then going on to Misty, and so on, even if you started in say Lavender Town. But here in the anime, it appears that the Gym Leaders really are extremely accomplished trainers, and that they handicap themselves (probably because the Pokemon League says so) so that newer trainers stand more of a chance against them.
And of course, since it is a special and not a full series, I was kinda hoping that they made some jokes that fans have had about the game. For example, in Lavender Town, when the nurse told Red to visit the Pokemon House before going to the Tower, Red should have answered "okay", upon which the nurse then took back Red's Pokemon to have them healed again, obviously joking at the fact that most players have spammed the A button to advance the text and accidentally triggered the nurse to ask if we want to heal our Pokemon, even after we just healed them.
And another thing I'd like to see, but I doubt I will, is a cameo appearance by Blue (in her FR/LG outfit) with a Bulbasaur, even if she's just in the background. It'd be a nice touch.
Oh well, I ranted enough about this show. D:

I've never had much interest in involving myself in the Pokémon series, but I like the Origin so far. I'm a little bit annoyed that things are going so quickly, but I like it, and it makes me want to continue my Diamond file.
