The outlets in my room have stopped working, the breaker wasn't tripped but I flipped the switch on and off anyway. No luck, I know nothing about this kind of thing. Any ideas?
Note: the lights still work

Do you have a multimeter handy? You might want to check if current is passing though the hot and neutral wires (the two vertical slots).

Are you sure none of the other circuits in your house affect those outlets (i.e. a light switch in another room)?

Sometimes, rooms are wired weirdly and thus they have a weird switch in a room that seemingly does nothing.
A friend of mine has a room like that, except the switch turns off the power in that section of the house.

Do you have a GFCI outlet in your room?
More info here
I don't know much about it myself either, but I remember it being mentioned when there was a problem in my house

A lot of the older houses in america don't have those, sadly.

I went ahead and called an electrician and the breaker box needed to be replaced
