Considering that Matoi gains threads for each Goku uniform she destroys;
the outfit is just incomplete and there's likely a point where it's not as revealing.
It's pretty funny that the fanservice and clothing are plot related.
At the current episode, fans of TTGL can pretty much be excited for what's coming.

I love the fact that instead of fan service just being there for the purpose of being fan service, it's actually built into the story of Kill La Kill. Also of course it's going to be there since the animators from Trigger are originally from Gainax and we all should know that Gainax fan service effect.
I agree with you on the incomplete outfit, as it seems like Satsuki's Kamui is more complete than Ryuko's Kamui (for now)
Looks too stupid for my taste. :(

Yeah...The fact that the fanservice is part of the plot just means it's going to be there a lot, which means this isn't something I can watch. Plus it being part of the plot feels like they did it as an excuse to have fanservice as much as possible?

I was not expecting Gamagori to have such a ... unique ... taste. That totally caught me off guard. I was smiling and making a what the hell face throughout that whole scene.

Agreed...the fanservice being part of the plot is a huge red flag to me.
Then again, TTGL is still the only series to date that I didn't bother to finish, precisely because of the rampant fanservice. If the makers have a new series that's questionable...I think I'll just steer clear.

After reviewing the current episodes, the series' strengths are in the personalities and the screenwriting of each episode.
It's really nice to appreciate on a technical scale for anyone who likes breaking down whatever they watch. They're constructing tropes and deconstructing even the ones they've created in TTGL and Panty and Stocking.
Star Clothing = Power
No star clothing = no clothing based power
less clothing = lewd/acceptable
no clothing = not lewd/shameful/resolve
TV tropes is having a field day with this series.

It's fun to watch, but not so fun for the fanservice part...it's too liberal for my tastes and I really have to close one eye just to watch it.
It's also not something I can say to people that I watch it because this is way too much madness.
It could have been better if the transformation were more conservative, then again, the blood, killing and amount of nudity references (nudddissst beeach) already makes it NSFW to begin with.

Watching the transformation scene every time gets really annoying but other than that I find the anime just fine.

I personally have no shame saying that I watch this and enjoy it. Then again I do work in the Porn Industry so I guess the standards are pretty low there already :P
Either way, this series has given me a new character to really hate. God fucking dammit Nui Harime! Burn in hell you manipulative bitch!
At least I can take pride that there is at least one person on these forums that does seem to like it.
Frankly I can easily overlook the fanservice and focus instead on the characters and the plot itself which is more than sufficient.
Then again by this point I'm extremely desensitized to nudity due to being exposed to it constantly at work.

Episode 13 was a real twist. I honestly did not see it coming.
Nui is terrible.

I think Senketsu is Matoi Isshin reincarnate. I wonder if Junketsu has something to do with the father of Satsuki.
Exactly what I was thinking before I read your comment. Everything that includes nudity is depraved, must have a bad plot and is therefore not worth watching. (Which sometimes hides the fact that we are embarassed out of our mind.)
Also, defintion of fanservice:
Basically, if it has little plot-redeaming value, but makes the viewer sit up and take notice, it's probably fan service in one form or another.
I guess in this case the developers want to rile up the audience. It is supposed to be an outrageous anime after all.
(Yes I'm watching it)
