I've been messing around with a giant lately and I've been thinking about what alch skills to rank after I finish my melee. I'm probably gonna take just support skills for use with a guard cylinder. I would probably take wind blast/sand burst first, then life drain and frozen blast. And maybe golems, because I like golems. I'm not really sure what order I should go these in, to be honest. Suggestions please?

If by finishing melee, you mean getting your combat tabs to rank 1, then go for life skills and archery. At least that's my personal preference.

If you mean finished by all rk1 melee skills (including lance) the I suggest do some life skills that give strength such as carpentry so you can boost your damage in melee or do fighter.
