Quote from Joystiq:
Some players have encountered a game-breaking bug in their copies of Pokemon X/Y. At least two videos of have hit YouTube already and the cause seems to be loading a file where the player has saved in Lumiose City. The game locks up when loading the file, so if you're currently playing you may want to avoid saving within Lumiose City.
Lumiose City is the main metropolis of the Kalos region in Pokemon X/Y. In the center of the city stands the Prism Tower, which serves as its symbol and prime example the city's design was heavily inspired by Paris, France.
We've contacted Nintendo to confirm the company is aware of the situation and working on a fix. We'll be sure to update this post with Nintendo's response when we get it.

Just a warning, guys... Do NOT save anywhere in the Lumiose city or there's a chance that the game locks up due to too many details the game is trying to load and you'll be forced to restart your save file if you want to keep playing.
Here's a video to show what happened after someone saved in Lumiose city and turned off game, only to have the game get locked up.

As far as I know.. it's okay to save inside the building in Lumiose city.
And I also read that if you save near the geometric obstacles such as taxi in Lumiose and quit game... Your risk of game being locked out is higher. It is recommended that you don't save in Lumiose city at all now til they implement a patch.

Hmmm thanks for the warning. I had just quit the game after saving in Lumiose city. Luckily I haven't gotten locked out in all the times I saved in Lumiose City. I guess I shall be more safe until a patch is implemented.

No.
Maybe the next new mainline Pokemon games will only have new starters.

I truly do not get why you're so up in arms about this. While I would have liked a few more Pokemon the game is still solid.

Huh? I think I saved a couple of times in Lumiose without any problems, I'll take note of this though.

I haven't had any problems either.

Like I stated in earlier post...
The bug will be more likely to occur if you save near the geometric obstacle such as the taxi.
Or well, thats where I've heard most of the problems happened when people saved near the taxi then load game up later only to get locked out.
Still, I would recommend to avoid saving anywhere in the Lumiose City for now til they released a patch for it.

In regard to people not noticing anything.. I can't exactly confirm this but a friend of mine suggests it only happens in Y, and not X.. for whatever reason. I'd still say to be cautious in both, but maybe those who haven't noticed much are playing X?

I've heard that it happened to several people who was playing on X so... yeah.

It happens in both X and Y, and happens for both physical and downloaded versions. There are self-fix instructions you can follow though, found
here.
Thankfully, it hasn't happened to me yet, but just letting you know that restarting the game doesn't have to happen if you do get glitched.
