“It is perhaps a good time for the befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanized world.†As nations around the world fret over the U.S. budget impasse, that is the conclusion of a not-so-subtle commentary published by China’s official Xinhua News Agency on Oct. 14.
Key among its proposals: the creation of a new international reserve currency to replace the present reliance on U.S. dollars, a necessary step to prevent American bumbling from further afflicting the world, the commentary suggests.

Sounds like good ideas to me.

That's not solving the problem it's just pushing it to another country.
The world economy should not depend on one country.

Not gonna complain though, being Chinese and all, but yeah :P International Currency is probably better than any one country's currency.

International currency seems like it has the potential to be devastating. We're already good enough at messing up our own currency. The world has suffered enough damage.

Very silly to say that this would be a good idea as an American, since this is one of the biggest factors for keeping your country's economy stable. If the US Dollar loses its reserve currency status, the US will be screwed by inflation. And then the resulting economic crazyness would affect everyone else.
This is nothing but empty talk from China.

I think they meant trying to lessen the reliance on dollar status which US should do. Dollar is wonky as it is, if they do what Ron Paul says and actually trying to cut spending and stop printing money so much dollar may yet be saved from total crash.
