Petition to remove 3ds region block(Actual link to petition)

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. So this petition I saw on another forums and just wanted to pass it along and hope it gets more support.

A vast majority do not even consider purchasing games from other countries and yes their are different cultures in every country and I remember a toy in Toys r us getting renamed by workers because it had the name Deathscythe Hell.

But that was years ago, times have changed a lot and if you are buying the game for yourself and you own it, is it really a big deal to offer that choice of importing games anymore. I can understand 6-8 years ago but now.. idk. Personal opinion, just don't hate me for it.

Money is money and games are games, but laws are laws and ratings are ratings, and they vary from country to country.

There are reasons other than "we just don't want x country to have x content" when it comes to region locking. You should really look into it.

Not a big issue for now given that not many will have the money to buy both JP and US games. If you had money to blow though, just buy the additional consoles for the regions you want. That's what many have been doing anyway.

I know there are various reasons for region lock. this petition has already gotten tons of support it seems so.. idk didnt really need the sarcasm

Anyways in response to all of the other posts, I understand that it has been tried before and I understand why the region block is in place on the 3ds.

I still disagree and believe that just removing the region lock off the 3ds software causes no harm to anyone and you would still have to import in the end.

I'll be editing my first post to make it more clear.
