  Looks a bit better than I expected, but my expectations were kinda low. Honestly though I'm completely against this. Its because there is no official animation that fans are always producing them. When a professional one comes out, the production of fan made videos will probably decrease, and the professional one will become the "base" for all others.

  Maybe the anime-OP styled ones, but I can only think of 2 or 3 of those and I doubt it would have any affect on PVs. In, what, 6 or so years, we've got exactly 1 other well-known fan anime? Some of the cooler animations that spring to my mind, I don't think this would have any impact on anyways.
  
  You'll probably see a flood of cheap AMVs or something on NicoNico, but I don't think it'll make that big a change at the conventions.

  The mass viewing of it will actually change how we view touhou. For example, Alice looks super happy in the OP video above. Something fanon likes to depict her as. But in canon she's one huge emo douche that shows almost no emotions ever.

  Says who? She cracks jokes at Marisa, when she meets Reimu she's joking around with her, etc (although my non-Game cannon lore is pretty bad). I'll grant that some people will be put off at how their favorite character is portrayed--hopefully Alice ISN'T portrayed as a DEREDERE Marisa stalker--but I think that the 'accepted' fannon of some characters, quite frankly, sucks. As for how much of an impact it'll actually have on the franchise, I won't make any speculations. I'll try not to become a 'its popular now it sucks' person.

  Not sure if I had ever said it here on these forums, but Touhou doesn't really have any personality. ZUN makes them speak for the sake of speaking. The characters aren't speaking because they're speaking.
  
  I really doubt that this will air on television. It's likely that at the very best, this'll be a 40 minute OVA.

  Hello everyone, I'm a new Touhou fan and I noticed a lot of other fans at this website. Looked around for a Touhou topic and found this. I thought maybe I could join in?
  
  I'm not all that great at the games yet. Horrible at them, actually. I can't even beat EoSD on Easy... In fact, last time I tried, I couldn't beat Meiling. =< But I know a fair amount about the characters and have been reading fics and talking with other fans and such. I can post some of the better fics I've read here if you guys would like.
  
  Also I posted some of my favorite Touhou songs here if you guys would like to listen. Maybe there will be some you haven't heard.
