Windows 8.1 mabinogi sound will not work

i just updated to windows 8.1 on tuseday october 22 and it will not play sound through my gamecon 780 usb headset. now i reinstalled mabinogi 3 times of today and it will not play sound through my head set. pandora and skype plays thorugh the headset but it will not work can someone help with this?
