New Character: Puppetry Master Help

I have questions on how to start this character out.... I've been thinking
of starting with Elf race and at age 13 or 17.... Starting at age 13 will
give me more dex and Luck over time but I will start out weaker... Starting at
17 will make me stronger at the start but I will get less dex and luck over

Elf Age 13

Starting stats - STR: 13 INT: 18 DEX: 28 WIL: 13 LUC: 15
Every year - STR: 1 INT 2 DEX: 3 WIL: 2 LUC: 1

Starting stats - STR: 17 INT: 29 DEX: 38 WIL: 20 LUC: 17
Every year - STR: 1 INT 2 DEX: 2 WIL: 2 LUC: 0

A year ends on saturdays i believe... I have another character on another account that has like 150 to 200 cumulative lvls but its a Giant.. Giants can't use Bows the last i check.... Make this toon a Human is still a possibility.. I consider my self a noob and don't really under stand the rebirth system even tho i have used it alot on my other character... What I don't get is-is it even woth it these days to even start out at any level below 17? Sure you get more stats later on but it will mean you lvl slower...
I plan on making this character tomorrow when the Puppetry Event starts Or even tonight...

Don't look into stats from levelling too much. Those arn't wont what will be making most of your damage - it's stats from skills. If you really need to look for anything, look for the availability of a skill (Whether an age gives strength, dex, int, etc. Some don't.) or for Luck, for crit.

Rebirth system is really simple once you get to know it - it can seem really complicated at first, but here's a few guidelines:
-You can rebirth to any age between 10 and 17, as long as the age you rebirth to is equal to or lower then your current age. IE: if you are 16 and rebirth, you can rebirth at ages 10-16, but not to age 17.
-You can rebirth for free when you age up to age 20 - when people say they can rebirth every three weeks, it means they rebirth to age 17 and wait until they are age 20 again (1 year per saturday in real time) to rebirth.
-The only other way to rebirth outside of being age 20 or above is to use a rebirth card that you buy with real money. You can rebirth with these cards as long as it has been 6 days or more since your previous rebirth.

Unless you have balls of steel, don't start with puppetry.

Puppetry is not bad as a first talent, you will obtain somewhere over 200-300 puppet max if you 100% that tab first.

I forgot the numbers, but basically, it isnt awful.

Lot better than ranking melee first and trying to solo hardmode or elite missions.

Soloing hardmode or elite with melee isn't hard. I'm able to do it with my poopy stats.
Starting puppetry isn't total god awful, but it's definitely not as efficient as starting melee or range.

I would not start off with puppetry, especially as an elf. Stick with archery first.[/FONT]

Or you could just rank climatic, crisis, and 1 marionette and do everything else later. Also, until elite level missions, having skills at around r9-5 is acceptable. Don't think you have to get everything to r1 (esp skills that aren't meant for dmg like crisis) before moving on to something else.

You're not going to be doing anything much without rank 1 crisis because ranking it improves the range. That 50 range is a big deal, not even joking.

I've been at r3 crisis for like 4 months (never trained puppets intentionally) which has the same range as r5 and I'm not noticing any major problems except 1: snagging all the NPCs in MA. It is a problem? Yes. Is it a problem for OP at his level? Probably not. Even with a lv 20 range hat, I don't think crisis will be able to span an entire tara castle sm room. At most you'll be able to pull like 1 extra enemy in with r1 in those cases. r5 is sufficient for grouping all mob members in: Scath cave, Battle for taili II and similar missions, Dorren's req, and all orb/circle missions (gop middle room, scc, etc.)

If you have high enough damage, crisis itself becomes decent AoE damager.
