Played it during open beta. I like what they've done with the game. Very good customization with the skill tree, picking a "class" doesnt lock you into being a ranger, warrior, etc (a bit similar to mabi, picking a starting race/class just gives you a small amount of starting stats and determines where in the HUGE skill tree you start at), a decent difficulty level especially when you are on your 2nd and 3rd+ playthroughs, and the biggest point is the game is NOT pay to win at all. The only things you can buy in cash shop are cosmetics (skill animations, cosmetic pets, costumes) and bank space. Even then they give you a very generous amount of bank space as a free player and you cannot expand your player's inventory with irl money (important because more player space = pick up more loot than other people).
The only thing i disliked about the game is once you beat the story the first time, it lets you replay the entire story mode again but with stronger monsters and better drops. Barely anything changes so it can get a little bit repetitive. Once you're done with your 3rd playthrough though there's a lot of endgame content in the form of being able to create your own dungeons. I wont comment much on that since I've never gotten that far.
I'm going to try this out on Saturday if anyone wants to join me. I still don't know what class I want to play. Are hybrid builds as good as pure builds when it comes to stat distribution.

Strictly speaking you can build any character whatever which way, but they do end up with certain default advantages in certain aspect due to their location on the skill map.
1. Witch: Pure Int, as you can tell she starts off on map with pure int nodes. Some people go for wand physical damage but the prominent build right now are summoner build which relies on zombies or skeletons, and frost witch build which build frost. Although elemental witches will more or less have a secondary element in case the resistance for certain element gets high in later level. But as far as I know people don't invest nodes into the secondary elements.
2. Ranger: Pure agi, I play her also, she has a hard time surviving but her damage is excellent. The things I can tell you is to play with a party as rangers can't tank, and rush for iron reflexes like so: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill...uvTioppQ==
Stacking evasion is a horrible idea if you want to live, as you'll always get a string of unlucky hits or some enemy that's more accurate than usual, and you don't have armor or energy shield to negate that damage. So when you convert your evasion rating to armor, you now negate all damage.
Remember that +evasion% nodes are basically armor nodes after iron reflexes, but when they do +evasion +armor they only count once (it doesn't double dip). For more survivability prioritize clusters of health nodes rather than damage nodes as you'll do a good amount of damage. Get some life rings as well if you need it. Unwavering stance also makes a good late game passive to get. This is an example end game build you can do: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill...m3FzpSMn4= (builds you plan should end at about 60 skill points for you to have your primary passives). After this you can go into more life nodes, more bow nodes, etc, but the main things I went for is never missing (but never critting), the inability to get stunned, and armor instead of evasion, as well as some good life nodes along the way when possible, as well as iron grip for any strength you have.
3. Marauder is pure str, I can't tell you much caz I don't play him.
4. Duelist is str/agi
5. Shadow is agi/int
6. templar is str/int
and finally Scion is str/int/agi
I can play Chock! But we have to use a mic because I wanna yell at you and shit.
I played a bit of the beta, I didn't really like the art-style. I'm not a big fan of the really dark world.
I was going to reply once somebody else replied so that I would not double post. Anyhow, let's do it bro. I don't have a mic, but I can listen to you scream like a bitch.
I'm thinking of going for a summoner's templar build, but I heard summoners are pretty weak until a later level and that it may take some gold. I'm not exactly sure. Is there any good build for templars early game?
