Best Heavy Armor?

This would be your best bet I think. None of the Heavy Armors give magic ping, you could upgrade for magic defense I suppose.

You should be able to get past 160 defense with just thames set, which is the best armor in my opinion.
But this probably isn't the one you're looking for, thames is for damage, not def/prot or ping, although with heavy armor mastery, you really should have enough.

Otherwise, royal knight armor, or mythril lance armor (very rare) would be your best bet.

Bhafel Slayer Guard is better if you can get max rolls for engineering.
It also has assault slash set bonus.

Black Dragon on Tarlach is rarely done.
At least with the Royal armor, you can solo your way to victory.
I tried soloing my way to victory with WD and BD. it did not end so well. Would be nice if people actually DID them.

He's on alexina where it seems like they do kill it.
It's 30 def/19 prot/31 magic def/22 magic prot/+10 magic damage/assault bonus (max roll 4 pieces)
vs
19 def/9 prot/5 magic def/4 magic prot (3 pieces).

Big difference, but it's up to the op to decide if it's worth the effort.
