Just as the launch date of PlayStation 4 comes closer, Sony has surprised potential customers by updating their Software Usage Terms to disallow resell or renting of all PlayStation games unless authorized by them and the publisher in case it is not Sony.

Investigation says it's blown out of proportion.
"I don't think you think you know what it means."
Speaking of which, gamefly will have the new games for rent i believe.

So this doesn't exactly mean what everyone thinks it means?

Meh, there's currently a B2G1 @ Target, some crappy deal @ BEst Buy, B1G1 (iirc) on Amazon for select PS4 games.
I don't think getting games should be a problem to launch buyers.

Pretty much. I don't think the site that posted this asked any questions first. Seems like they are reffering to people who buy stuff and sell it for more like on ebay to get those exclusives from out of other countries. Seems really unclear.. I'll wait for more sites about it to pop up

There's an image floating around of the Xbone, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3 terms of service with the exact same line. They are not going back on what they said, this just states that copying the software from the disc and redistributing it is against the terms of service as it has always been with any game/dvd ever.
With the launch of the PS4 right around the corner you should expect xbox fanboys/marketers to be blowing non-stories like this out of proportion. Take all news with a mountain of salt and do your homework before coming to a conclusion.

So, essentially, the website article rehashed the law we've had for years to make up a story?

Exactly. It's all about creating a big fuss to get those page views.

This is just to stop those digital illegal downloads/modifications or pirating as they call it.
It's not stopping people from trading discs (the legal way).
